Home Tax Credit

i think you have to have owned & lived at your previous home for 5 years.

You had to have not been a homeowner for whatever the time was 3 or 5 years...I just bought in July and was able to collect, but I never owned a house prior, you should check with your accountant just in case there are any loopholes.

there is another tax credit for people that have owned previously.

any cut-off dates, or as long as you purchased in 2009?
move-up/repeat home buyers (existing home owners) purchasing a principal residence after November 6, 2009 and on or before April 30, 2010 (or purchased by June 30, 2010 with a binding sales contract signed by April 30, 2010).

There are also rural tax credits as well as USDA ones...on top of that, there are state plans that differ cross country as well.

the I know people in florida that receive as very large agricultural tax incentive, by buying up several acres and buy 1 sheep or cow...then letting it graze.

You'd be surprised what can qualify for. Contact you local HUD branch and get the info...its their job to inform you and its free info to access.

I"m buying a home right now too, so I'm pretty familiar with the current ringer of benefits out there

God damnit, if it's gonna be that kinda party I'm gonna go out and buy myself a little house too....let me see how much money I got laying about the house here.....

are you talking about property taxes or income taxes?

are you talking about property taxes or income taxes?

the tax incentive is appropriated through your income tax...property taxes are not done through the federal gov't. Thats a local authority (either town, county, or state...and in some shitty cases a combination of local authorities).

I don't know of any rural INCOME tax credits on property. And I assume you're not talking EIC/low income.

Got a link to something authoritative?

Isn't there a deduction for Property Taxes?

Yes.

Robert's question was specific to the homebuyer credit - asked and answered (an INCOME tax credit).

I was just trying to figure out what lnvanry is talking about. He's throwing out buzz words like tax incentives and tax credits and I'm wondering which ones he's referring to.
