Tim Sylvia vs Mariusz Pudzianowski MMA Video

Love Mariusz, tremendous athlete, but if he wants to really compete it'll take awhile to make the transition. By the way, the strongest man on the planet is Andy Bolton. Six time super heavyweight world champion. Holds the current world record in the deadlift with 1003-also the squat at 1213-along with the highest total of all time for the three lifts 2807. Strongest man who ever lived, in my opinion.

It depends what you define as strength. Andy Bolton is king when it comes to highly controlled weight lifting situations. Power lifting is very straight forward.

World's Strongest Man events, on the other hand, is like "guerrilla weight lifting". The events are highly variable and can be approached many different ways.

Interesting comments-I love watching strongman competitions. The variety of challenges do make for fascinating creativity and strategy by the competitors.

Tim Sylvia, speaking Monday on the Sherdog Radio Network’s Savage Dog Show on whether Mariusz Pudzianowski was strong:

Not at all. I’ve faced guys in the gym that were stronger than him. I’m not saying any of the guys I faced can out-bench-press him or pull a car faster than he can or throw keg barrels around like he can, because none of us can, but that’s not what we train for. We train to go against other human beings that are punching you, kicking you, kneeing you or trying to out-position you with their hips. I knew the strength was not going to come into play just because I knew it was MMA. It’s totally different when someone’s trying to grab you and you’re punching them in the face and kneeing them in the body.

it was interesting to watch. Mariusz needs to get the cardio up and start some strict MMA training if he really wants to make a serious run at this.
