She didn't try to attack him I don't think. If you look you can see that she grabs her friends hand, and his hand, pulls them apart and then pushes him away from her friend. Both women are acting like retards, but that be an excuse for him to haul off and punch a woman in the face. IMO he should have used the taser to subdue the crazy lady in the black shirt before shit got that out of hand. I can't believe she fought him off that long, she must have been smoking some pcp. How else do you explain being dumb enough to rack up 3 more charges instead of just being polite and maybe just getting a warning?

After watching a few more times it looks like she goes to put her hands up after she pushes him, but I can't tell if it's to hit him or not, doesn't really look like it though. If she was gonna hit him you'd think she would have done it before making sure he had both hands free.

What was the whole thing even about?

It doesn't matter if she is a woman or a man, you don't put your hands on a police officer in the middle of an arrest or any other part of them doing their job. That girl he hit was as big or bigger than him. He felt threatened and with the growing crowd he had to make a split second decision. He did what he thought was best and none of us can see the whole picture since we didnt see what happened before the camera started rolling or have a 360 degree view of the scene. I applaud this officer for giving the woman the equal rights that they so badly want.

on Tuesday, Seattle Police Guild President Rich O'Neill said Walsh did nothing wrong. "If anything, I think he maybe waited a little too long to engage in force because I think he was trying to defuse the situation and calm people down and it was obvious from the audio anyway of the two individuals that they were not going to be calmed down," O'Neill said. "They were not going to comply in any way."

"look you jaywalking crackhead, calm down. don't make me have to pimp you up"

:mooh::mooh:"oh no officer i am not going to calm down" "git your hans off mah cuzzin"

pimping up ensues. who's to blame?

i would have shot them both.

Well here's a black dude locked in reality like most of us, not even going the all too often race route and I admire him for it.....he's keepin' it REAL....

First you don't walk away when a cop stops you for breaking the law "Jaywalking"
Second do not resist arrest
Third if you are a by-stander in a growing crowd with one officer struggling with a rowdy person it is not smart to jump in, he already has his hands full, he will need to disable you quickly so he can get back to the issue at hand. I'm telling you if I were struggling with two people and a crowd started to gather around me I would pull out my gun and tell the two perps to lay the fuck down on the ground, and then focus on backing that crowd up. You never no when some knucklehead might try to grab your piece and use it on you. We've all seen the videos where a cops gets his gun yank out of his holster while wrestling with someone....just one person, 2 people doubles your chances...

If he was a woman beater or a violent bad cop, the woman he was arresting (if it would have even gone that far had she co-operated) wouldn't have been moving by the end of the vid. I can understand he's just doing his job, but with that many people there (especially where he appears to be by himself and smaller than half of them) and those women acting like that he should have had his taser out from the get-go.

I can't believe she was being such an ass about it. If she'd just co-operated she probably would have gotten off with a warning, unless tickets for jay-walking are absolutely mandatory. People are so freakin stupid.

He should go find this lady and jack her in the face.

What a cunt head. Innocent until proven guilty is such a crock of shit these days.

5 kids were rapped, 10 people od'd, 25 liquor stores were robbed, and 6 women were murdered while this moron wasted time on someone who wasn't even doing anything wrong.

Im sure most of you would of barricaded yourselves in the Squad car until back up arrived. Possibly pissed yourselves as well.

Exactly. Any smart person would have done so (or brandished their 9mm), especially for something as trivial as jay-walking. Black people are scary and they shoot people. In the time it took him to subdue her, any one of those idiots could have pulled a gun.

Listen assfaces, its easy to criticize the Police but put yourself in Seattle cop's shoes.

The crowd is growing, Theres no goddamn back-up, the bitch is Irate, Some of the negros in the crowd make comments, He's white, She's black...If that isnt a fuckin Xanax moment for that cop i dunno what is.

Was this your response to the comments on YouTube? Because no one here really disagreed that the cop was in a heavy situation and needed to set an example that if anyone was going to escalate the violence he would respond one step higher....Me, I would have pulled my taser first and zapped the "Are you serious!" guy for trying to incite a riot, let him know how serious I am. If you're going to be an Amateur Journalist learn to just observe and not run your mouth.....

Just a couple of things... Cop had no taser due budget restrictions. In that area there is a history of accidents involving pedestrians/jaywalkers.

sure as hell looks like it.

Cop didn't do anything wrong, except for thinking by holding the woman, that she would cooperate. He should have thrown her to the ground and diffused the situation right there instead of allowing it to escalate with more bystanders. Her friend jumped in, assaulted the cop, he disabled her. Nuff said. some agencies frown on closed hands hits, but for many its within guidelines, especially if a situation escalates. Despite what anyone thinks, pushing a cop is no different then punching a cop. Assaulting a cop is assaulting a cop, by booking standards.

He could have tried reasoning with her before, but the video starts with the Def resisting. In terms of PR it looks bad, but hes within the lvls of escalation considering he has two Defs resisting/ assaulting. Either way,..... it will get turned into something its not, as it already has.

If you follow the law, u dont get in trouble. Getting mad and bitching at the cop, then resisting arrest is only going to get you thrown to the pavement.
