Hey everyone, let me introduce myself by saying that I have been using this website for years but just finally got around to posting my first thread! Iv e always relied on this site for advice on supplements and training as well.

3 months ago I injured my wrist due to shoulder pressing 275 on seated BB, which i initially noticed a few days after. I maxed at one rep which I put up with no problem but began to see the consequences 2 days later. I had the same injury last year from the same BB seated military press, which motivated me to start using wrist wraps, and after taking a month off i was cured. However, this current issue has been bothering me for 3 months and although it has subsided significantly, I can still feel discomfort and am scared to enter the gym again because i do not want to re-injure it. Initially, i believed the problem was tendonitis, but after seeing an ortho it was suggested that it was a ligament injury which he attributed to years of heavy lifting. I got X rays and they revealed that my bones were fine. I have been lifting since i was 15, and am now 21. My workout regimen for those years consisted of lifting very heavy for size and strength, but it was always monitored and i was always cautious and knowledgable. I do not truly believe that this injury is a result of heavy lifting for years but due to being prone and having reinjured my wrists from the same motion due to excessive weight in order to push out a max. I have always been smart about lifting and do not know what possessed me to max out even though at the time it seemed that it was not an issue.
I am currently taking:
Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM 4 pills 2x a day
Ligaplex II 3 pills 3x a day
Min-Tran 4 pills 2x a day
Catalyn 4 pills 2x a day

It seems as though my injury has developed into a chronic injury and I am trying to do anything possible to heal myself and return to the gym. I have been doing research on other supplements and have looked at supercissus RX. Would anyone recommend this for my situation? Not lifting for three months has been killing me and i cannot wait to go back. Aside from resting i do not know what else to do. Please give me feedback. I appreciate ANY advice concerning my situation. THanks again.

^LOL

Did he say if he injured his left or right hand? :D

To the OP:

Rest it, rest it, rest it. Switch to volume, you strong bastard!

AND try some unilateral stuff until the one wrist is allowed to heal fully. Single arm rows, dumbbell curls for the good arm, one arm dumbbell triceps extensions, one arm machine benching, etc.

I read somewhere that working the uninjured side will actually have a positive effect on the injured side. This was, if I recall correctly, related to people with broken arms or legs - that working the uninjured side would benefit the injured side in some manner.

No cites, but it's one hell of an anecdote! :thumb:

Good luck and wishing you a full recovery.

Any thoughts on starting supercissus RX for this injury?

Sorry i forgot to mention that it is both wrists!

FAK! Some Nautilus machines that use pads rather than gripping would be nice right about now.

Get well soon.
