Hey,

So I know a lot of natural body builders like to take maybe a week off every 3 months or so just to let the body get a good recovery going. Do any of you AAS users do this during your cruises or PCT ?

Just want to see what the average is here, if any at all.

Yes I do. A week off on occasion can help with recovery and joint pain, IMHO. I've taken a week off after a long stretch of training, and actually come back stronger.

i take off quite a bit of time.....i'm very very intense when i do dedicate a couple months nonstop, so routinely and randomly taking off a few workouts or even a week or two has helped me tremendously over the last couple years gain like i've never gained before when i was consistent......plus now that i'm older and wiser i like having the extra recovery time as well as enjoying life......i think my pics speak for themselves as to how this has worked for me.....

I was thinking of taking a week off at the start of PCT.
Been training like Branch Warren the past few weeks.

I take a week off every few months but that is just training natty.

When I take a week off, I usually will still go to the gym but only do cardio and abs during that week. Do you guys think this is ok or should I just skip exercising altogether? Sorry CL. Not intending to hijack your thread. I didn't want to start a new thread to ask this question since they're similar but your question is a very good question.

I'd imagine no training at all for that week would be the way to go to help your body and CNS recover.

well from experience..... it was no training at all for 5 days straight. then i went in and did cardio for 2 and then inter graded weights again.

I take time off when life gets really busy, or I just feel I need it. If I'm really busy for a few days and already losing sleep, I won't always lose even more just to get to the gym, for a shitty, tired workout.

Everybody is so worried about loosing a gram o muscle that they forget to rest. Also this thing called muscle memory is not fiction. Every time I taqke a week off I come back fresh and usually make gains a lot easier. Even if you take a couple weeks off the muscle lost comes right back.

the older I get the more time off I find myself taking, whether because I just feel that I need it or an injury.

Me too!

Pics? I missed them:geewhiz:

A few weeks ago I took a full week, was pretty refreshing.

Never a bad idea to let your body rest

Looking big! How old are you?

Looking big! How old are you?

5'5" 36yrs....biggest i've been is 210 but i refused to go shirtless at that weight....these pics i was around 180-185....i'm 185-190 now and not quite as lean anymore......i went back to school and took the fall off of training to concentrate on my studies.....but muscle memory is amazing.....ifbb pro flavio bacciannini i've talked to a couple times would only train 6 months out of the year and grow into a show.....

Looking good irish. No homo lol. Sometimes you need to hear from other people that your doing good. You guys are opening my eyes. I'm hitting the gym 6 days a week for 2 hours at a time. I'm really pushing myself, and although I'm getting a shit ton more vascular (doing alot of high rep, low weight stuff), I'm not gaining much strength or size. My bench has been stuck, and I mean stuck, at 315 for about a month now. A few days off sounds intriguing to me right now.

Those little shorts should have "No Homo" written across the butt.

i forgot the section that i posted them in is no longer here.....here ya go....from last summer....disregard the date on the camera...i've never set it since i've had it

Can I have your autograph?

I must admit your 1st photo is the best:daydream:

thank you for posting...I want my legs like your legs!:owned:

Pics look good Irish! You got good size wheels. I gotta work in mine.

So, Irish isn't a Fictitious character after all. Lookin' solid bro. I definitely believe in taking time off. I'm currently on week one of a two week break.
