Stephen Colbert on Perry's new video

Colbert is an idiot. He's just like Jon Stewart. Wannabe politicians, spew ignorance on with every show, then, when they get called out on something, they play the "I'm just a comedian, don't take me seriously" card. Losers.

I think you mean "wannabe political talk show host." And, it's obvious that they're trying to be comedians. The only folks that don't find it funny are the ones they're making fun of.

Spew ignorance? Are you fucking kidding? They are comedians! It's not ignorance, its called sarcasm! The character, described by Colbert as a "well-intentioned, poorly informed, high-status idiot", is a caricature of televised political pundits.

LOL...The last thing they want to be is what they make fun of everyday. Colbert is having a blast pretending to be a conservative.

The guy is Genius. I especially love it when he gets a muted response from his audience, like "that one flew straight over their heads". I think you have to have above average IQ to find him funny!!

Colbert gave his hour long testimony in front of congress about immigration(but he's just a comedian)

Jon Stewart is a regular on the O'Reilly factor (but he's just a comedian)

Colbert and Stewart both held rallies in D.C. (but they're just comedians) :jerkit:

He's funny, but he's just more spin on "news." You may be surprised how many people look to him for the daily news.

Glen Beck is hilarious, though I don't think he means to be. All major news outlets spin their stories in favor of their political beliefs or in the name of the almighty dollar, but Faux News takes it to a whole other level. They're playing on the level of The Guardian and Post Intelligencer.

I think Jon Stewart desperately wants to be an influencing factor in the world of politics. Anyone who has some smarts to 'em shoud take what he says with a grain of salt. (Unless you're the typical college kid jackin' off in your dorm room to everything he says)

News, CNN, and MSNBC

Abstract:

This study examines climate change coverage on the three major cable news channels and assesses the relationship between viewership of these channels and beliefs about global warming. Evidence from a content analysis of climate change coverage on Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC during 2007 and 2008 demonstrates that Fox takes a more dismissive tone toward climate change than CNN and MSNBC. Fox also interviews a greater ratio of climate change doubters to believers. An analysis of 2008 survey data from a nationally representative sample of U.S. adults finds a negative association between Fox News viewership and acceptance of global warming, even after controlling for numerous potential confounding factors. Conversely, viewing CNN and MSNBC is associated with greater acceptance of global warming. Further analyses reveal that the relationship between cable news viewership (both Fox and CNN/MSNBC) and global warming acceptance is stronger among Republicans than among Democrats. That is, the views of Republicans are strongly linked with the news outlet they watch, regardless of how well that outlet aligns with their political predispositions. In contrast, Democrats don???t vary much in their beliefs as a function of cable news use. This asymmetry suggests that some Republicans, who as a group tend to be predisposed toward global warming skepticism, are less skeptical when exposed to information on the reality and urgency of climate change.
