Carrot Top is sick of being compared to a ginger Arnold Schwarzenegger ... telling TMZ he's dropped 30 pounds in an effort to return to physical normalcy.

C.T. was at Boa in Hollywood last night ... when he told us he's given up weightlifting for the time being to focus on cardio so he can shed the diesel muscle mass.

When asked if he was sick of being buff, Mr. Top replied, "It didn't fit my style."

FYI -- here's Carrot back in 2008 (below) ... so ... yeah, we approve of the new look.

if you're ever in Vegas I highly recommend seeing his she at the Luxor, probably the funniest live stand-up I have ever seen, and I have seen a ton.

Yes. His show is pretty decent. He performs in the same venue as the "Fantasy Girls." He uses a lot of props in his show, so that kinda has to be your comedic style.

Prince, you ever see Criss Angel in the Luxor? His Cirque show is neat, too.

I saw him live like 10/ 12 years ago and he didnt look anything like that. He was funny as shit though and I am not a big prop fan. I saw Chris Rock who was a piss but the best stand up I saw in person was Sam Kinison (RIP). He was ridiculous!
