Tebow sucked anyway...where are all the Tebow dick riders at

Reports are 5 years, 95 Mil.........Jesus Christ!!!

That doesn't mean anything.

It's a backloaded deal, and in 2-3 years (if he's still playing) they will cut him and move on. He'll be lucky to see 40M of the deal period.

One thing most people forget, NFL DEALS AREN'T FULLY GUARANTEED.

Exactly. This is why I was curious what his sign-on money was. :coffee:

Exactly. But, it's still a lot of money, regardless. Remember the Haynesworth deal with Washington? 7 years, 106 million with 40 million guaranteed. I believe that was one of the most expensive contracts in NFL history because of the guaranteed money. Peyton isn't stupid, coming off of a serious neck injury, I have no doubt his agent conjured up some deal that guarantees him a handsome contract regardless of performance.

we get him at the end of his career, will he even make it 5 more seasons? Tebow was our future, they did not even give him a chance to go thru training camp as the starter or an entire season as the starting QB, I would be okay with Manning if we kept Tebow as second string.

I didnt read through all the threads but I saw your comment and had to post. Dude, you guys are lucky as shit to have Peyton in command this year. Tebow was good, but won alot of games by luck(or GOD). Tebow is a great PLAYER, not quarterback like Peyton. As long as the offensive line can protect him you guys are money. This coming from a philly dude. I would take Manning over Vick in a second.

And what happens if he gets injured again, he is not young? Is he going to make it another 5 years, I doubt it. The reason Denver fans are not happy is because Peyton is at the END of his career, we want a QB that will take us in to the future, e.g. the next 10 years, not 2 or 3 years.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation.

Before he was injured he was only playing about 85% of his peak IMO and afraid of taking a hit. How bad do you think he wants to take a sack now?

I agreed 110%....I wish Tebow would stay and learn from Peyton but I understand he want to shine. MSNBC tweeted he may return to FL (which makes sense) :'(

I guess we just have to deal with this shit. It's all part of the game. i wish we would keep Tebow and 2nd string and give him the training he deserves. :(

If he gets injured again, you save a ton of money in cap space, tank the year and then pick the next Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Matthew Stafford, RGIII with the first pick of the draft. The money you saved on Manning can be used to extend your core group and spend on UFA. 2-3 years, you're looking at Super Bowl chances.

I doubt Manning plays another 3 years, but if he is healthy, he gives you a MUCH better option to win it all than does Tebow. You saw what happened when they played the Patriots twice last year, BLOWOUTS. Manning can get you over that hump.

Either way, if they keep improving the defense through the draft in the next 2-3 years they would be able to hang with anyone.

You're telling me you would take Tebow over a Super Bowl and then 3-4 years of rebuild?

Denver has been in "rebuild mode" since Elway left, now we spend $95 million on a QB that will be retiring soon, sorry it just does not make sense long term, maybe short term who knows.

I agree prince. Who is he going to throw the ball to? Can't afford to get any really good WR's..Manning will do good things- but I agree- way to much money for a QB- with abnormalities in his neck- to get to the next level. And after 2 years of forming the Run Option just for Tim, it's going to take a year or two to get back to a spread set so the offense can understand mannings audibles and "fake audibles"!

You still didn't answer the question.

And the team I root for has been rebuilding since 1950, so you've got NOTHING on me.
