i don't think stepping back making no laws and letting parents just do whatever the hell they want to kids is the key. huge cuts to dchs will mean a lot less social workers out there trying to fix shit like this.

I think "gay conversion therapy" is unethical, but people have the right to run unethical practices. No one is forced into the therapy, I suppose. However, I can easily imagine ultra-conservative parents essentially "forcing" their children into the therapy. The conversion therapy gives anti-gay parents a powerful psychological tool to use against their children's innate traits.

I am not good at discussing this subject with people who think that gay people are "wrong" or unnatural. I simply can't understand how people cannot empathize with gay people. It is so simple. They are attracted physically and romantically to the same sex, just like a heterosexual person is to the opposite sex. Sure there is a lot of annoying pro-gay activity, but a strong reaction makes sense when there is a strong inhibition.

Fair question. They deserve to have access to therapy. However, unlicensed untrained uneducated people have no right to perform psychological treatment anymore than Joe Bob the plumber has a right to open shop to perform discount surgery. Performing it on teenagers and children is unforgivable. It is sick.

There was no camp I could have been sent to that would have changed how I feel about tits and ass. Any attempt to reprogram me to enjoy fucking nasty ass dudes would have been damaging, especially if I believed that the only way to be accepted by my own parents was to do so.

No, I will not waste time linking facts showing that attempts at switching a person's sexual orientation is dangerous. There is so much information out there regarding this that if you don't already know, then you are either lazy or in denial because it doesn't support the beliefs you already have. I have had the same fucked up argument with you for years about gays, and you are too hard set in your beliefs to even admit that sexual orientation isn't a choice.

It depends on the person. Sometimes it's genetic, sometimes it's choice. But yeah, keep telling me how I'm set it my ways. Not only that, but I've clearly changed my stance on several topics (pot & unions, for example) over the years.

I agree with you on the parades if only for the innocent kid's sake. I agree with the rest of your post but I cant agree with the 'people have the right to run unethical practices' part. Thats like saying Monsato has the right to run unethical GE experiments or Exxon has the right to run unethical practices which may cause harm to your immediate environment. Did you know that babies are born all the time as early as 24 weeks into pregnancy and live normal healthy lives, they are individual human babies. Do you think your mom first broke the news to your dad by telling him "we have a fetus" People use a scientific term for many reasons, the truth is they are babies, if anyone wants proof, just visit a neonatal care unit for premature babies.
