I've always wondered, why does America feel the need to constantly be at war? There are tons of free countries that don't feel the need to fight all the time. Don't you think if you just minded your own business you wouldn't have to "defend" your country? I'm being serious and not bashing. I'm Canadian we live a much healthier and lucrative lifestyle than Americans and don't pick fights with anyone. We have more resources ( oil,gold,lumber) than the US and nobody's trying to take our shit. Do you guys ever wonder what you are really at war for? Please don't get mad I'd honestly like to know.
I read once about General Electric being the fourth largest defence force contractor, they also own NBC, google there contracts awarded worth, it is staggering. War is money, pure and simple

can you imagine what people who are innocent in these invaded countries feel towards America and its allies? Part of it the war industry here that's always spending money to get politicians to go to war to make them more money. Even if we didn't do it for that reason, we'd still have to do some of it to legitimately protect our interests.
Don't kid yourself. One of, if not the, major reason that Canada prospers is its proximity to the USA.
Also, you don't need to spend much on defense because you're right next to, and on very friendly terms with, the most powerful nation on the planet.

However, you need to maintain perspective. In the case of America's debt, it's not nearly the highest in terms of a percentage of GDP. Japan (#1), Iceland, Ireland, Singapore, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, and Israel all rank higher. I'm not belitteling the US debt, simply showing that, comparatively, it's not even near the top. It's simply the highest in absolute amount, and everyone likes to take an interest in the USA -- both good and bad -- because it's the only superpower.
Also, keep in mind that $5 trillion is owed to the Social Security Trust Fund. And $11 trillion is owed to US and foreign investors. The single largest holder of debt, other than the USA, is China, with $1.16 trillion. The second is Japan with $1.12 trillion. In other words, the largest holder of US debt is the US. Just FYI.
Lastly, keep in mind that with all our debt, everyone still buys more of our offerings because it is, quite simply, still the safest place to invest your money. Far from what the gloom and doom sayer's spew, we far from any real catastrophe. However, we do need to turn this ship around of we will eventually reach that destination.

My nephew, the one in Airforce intelligence, believes that the Chinese (where in China males outnumber females because girls are often killed at birth) are sending Chinese men to essentially breed out the white people. Plus, the bread like crazy once they touch down. No more "one child" rule.

I lost many brothers in the sandbox and bits of myself. Thanks to everyone who has served and all i have served along side. Without many of those fine men, i would not be breathing today.

You can't hold some E-4 responsible for our government's decisions. Thank you guys for your service. I grew up on an Air Force base and I can appreciate the struggle.
