and look for the section "Email Notification of New Private Messages:"
Click the box that sez - "Don't receive Email Notification of new Private Messages"

Thanks. I changed the settings but oddly all the emails i am getting are from old messages.

I have the same issue - turned off notifications weeks ago, but every 5-7 days get like 200-300 old emails.

I think the DEA are involved

I just tried those settings ^^^^ ...I've tried every other damned thing.
My email won't filter it out as spam either no matter how many times I mark it. What makes me nuts about it is it blows up my phone too.

Until the admins fix it on the back end try this

Check these settings in your user control panel in My Settings in General Settings under the
Messaging & Notification section and change them to:

Email Notification of New Private Messages:
Don't receive Email Notification of new Private Messages

Receive Email:
Uncheck all the check boxes.

Default Thread Subscription Mode:
If it's set in the drop down to any of the e-mail selections
change it to "do not subscribe"

Save the settings configuration changes (dumb point but people sometimes forget to save setting changes)

My email won't filter it out as spam either no matter how many times I mark it. What makes me nuts about it is it blows up my phone too.

Changing the settings will only work for every post in the future. Any threads you posted in BEFORE changing the settings still remain subscribed to. So you'll have to go into your subscription list and UNSUBSCRIBE from each one. Then you won't get notifications again.

I have mine set to "Through my control panel only" this way when I log on I can still go back and look at the threads I've already responded to. This way I won't forget.
