I think since its such a small percentage of the population there hasnt been any real studies done to be conclusive as to what causes a person to want to switch genders. but in my opinion I believe much like a person can be born a hermaphrodite with both genitals or with out any genitals at all that there is some correlation to hormones. sometimes boys are born with one testical or none and have to get hormone treatment. So I would venture to say that since hormone levels arent really visable at a young age its possible that a child which is born one gender lets say female but has a higher than normal testosterone level making her feel more like she wants to be a boy. you always hear these folks say that they felt this way since they were a child.

then he asked, when did you decide to be heterosexual? most people at that point realize that its not some conscious decision.

and I mean, of course there's mental health issues at play in some circumstances, there is in the general population so why wouldn't there be when there's other variations

sometime I see stuff on youtube and I'm like- how the fuck was she born a guy- there's no way.
as far as hormones- I have higher test ...I am relatively aggressive but honestly like all my girl parts right where they are and am not sexually attracted to women..so..ya..idk

I dont normally think about it, I'm just glad I have a normal healthy attraction to women. guys in prison how joke about rape say your only gay if you like it, but then I knew a few guys definately liked women outside prison so thats a weird thing that happens and its by choice. I had this convo before about how strong the male sex drive can be espeacially with higher testosterone. blacks naturally have a higher testosterone and there is a huge problem with blacks jerking off secretly around female guards. If a woman has a low sex drive a doc puts her on testosterone but if a woman has too much she grows unwanted hair and larger clit. so thats why I say there must be a connection to hormones and gender issues

Is it? Because it's listed as gender dysphoria in the dsm-IV ?

That's a popular opinion for sure...but to ask you objectively ...and I'm being sincere-my position on the paper is argumentative in nature..pro and con...
If because it's listed in the manual meant to ascertain mental health issues...implying it's free will I'm assuming (if I'm wrong that that's your assumption feel free to correct me) do you believe autism or aspergers or dyslexia is free will as well? Because they are also listed in the dsm-IV with diagnostic criteria.


Society had ebbed and waned in its acceptance on the issue ..it's been around for a cpl thousand years but with obvious surgical advances. Roughly half, according to studies, lose sexual sensation even in very advanced and complex surgeries. I'm trying to figure out why someone would risk that.
And in a different context
If the difference between...say homosexual sex and heterosexual sex is really procreation.. is there a difference? Heterosexual couples definitely enjoy non procreation sex.


If there is any objective studies done on the matter..and I mean stand up to scientific scrutiny ..that support your view I could actually really use any links you have.

The core of the thesis has an anti thesis ...and I did not pick the subject...I'm actually pretty unaware of a lot of this arena of ...sociology? Anthropology? Who knows.

one of the arguments I started going down on the issue is that if gender equality is a non issue, than a trans gendered person should also be a non issue
but on the other side of that- if one is to ask for no discrimination on the basis of sex...no discrimination on the basis of religion is to be expected as well- in the case of people viewing it as a sin for instance (evangelical religions in particular)

you can't have equality on an issue but then say another person can't have equality as well....

and if someone views it as a mental disorder- while I may not agree with it - not agreeing with it doesn't help me understand another persons point of view



and you bring up an interesting point...I think a lot of people on these types of boards knows that body dysmorphia is a real disorder that can get someone into real trouble
so does "gender dysmorphia" as its called get people in to real trouble?

I think down that rabbit hole I'd like to try and find some studies to see if anyone has looked at if anyone has ever had gender regret



for instance ..if someone got to adulthood as a man ..then transitioned to a woman ...do they have regrets? do they notice if they're treated differently? there are things men undoubtedly take for granted as men that I dont expect them to realize because..well..they've never been women


I genuinely need as many angles as possible for the research paper and need to view it with an open mind and more of a legal argument type of attitude - what is all of the information and opinions and what are my stance on them
