    Drink supplement DURING workout

I've been using "size on" for a bit now. It's pretty great stuff but a little pricy, been thinking about just using diluted protein with BCAAs and see how that works out.

what are peoples view on training to failure?

I've always been under the impression that going to failure on your last set was a good indication that you had reached the max you could push on an exercise before moving to the next. Is this really a bad idea when taking into account some of the things you guys are talking about with skeletol...

Popping too many pills bad for my liver?

Well I think it's an honest question for someone who doesn't know. For someone who is pretty comfortable with knowledge in these things it's easy to say "do some research". But for someone who doesn't already know the answer, asking a knowledgeable community is the best way to "do some...

    push and pull?

I would say it's important to key in on how he said he was doing "full body" workouts. In my opinion those exercises are not really geared towards building size in specific areas but rather all over. It's not so much about bodybuilding as much as strength. I know I have a buddy playing college...

    A question on bulking

Hey A lot of great input here. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to my own thread, I've been reading all of the posts as they get to my phone. Just been very slow at actually responding dues to school and such kicking back up round now. Ya I'm feeling the big factor to look at here is...

Basic question on organization of exercises

Hey, thank you all for all the answers. Sounds like for the post part it's agreed that's it's not so much about the specific muscle but rather how many muscles the exercise actually calls on. I think especially now that I've switched to the push, pull and legs system that this idea should work...

    A question on bulking

To Nick: Ya, I know about the whole "make sure you eat breakfast thing so your metabolism can kick back up for exercise" thing. But ya, thanks for mentioning it all the same, it's a good thing to remember. It sounds like the general consensus is that: Yes, if you do cardio straight away or at...

    A question on bulking

Since I started lifting I've always aimed for a strength based program. Working with heavy weights and working in a way that by the third set I max out at 6 reps. Diet was moderate with a lot of protein but not much more than probably 2500 calories. It was always the sort of, "Hey, I just...

Whats your favourite part of your workout?

Squats for sure. I love how I just used to despise them and hate having to do them, and then I got good at them. Now there's nothing better than being able to look forward to these every time I hit the leg day.

Basic question on organization of exercises

Ok, well it all makes sense. But I suppose to a large degree you have to feel some things out and adjust according to the demands of the exercise, to determine whether or not it works for sub maximal lifting or whether it's something that needs to be done fresh.

    training calves

I find a great way to work them out is just to do them standing with no weight and do slow controlled reps for as many as you can do. as many as 50 reps or more. From what I understand about calves is that they're a muscle that is very good at managing large amounts of weight without stress but...

    hello everyone!

Don't really want to start a brand new thread for this so I'll just put my intro here. Just started here on ironmag a few days ago, already sort of introduced myself in a question thread, but: I'm Canadian and 19 years old. Just finished high school a year ago and spent this last year of...

Basic question on organization of exercises

Ya I suppose lifts that are difficult to do safely when tired should take some priority over others. All this will definitely make it easier to start building a new routine for the coming school year Thanks again for the good input here on ironmag!

Basic question on organization of exercises

Hey guys, thanks for the input it's been very helpful. Basically what I've got from this is that the best way to work through your workout is to start with the largest muscles and simplest lifts, then work your way down to the smaller muscles and more dynamic lifts. The whole thing being a sort...
