    Deadlifts with a belt

Ya, it's old, but could help me out. I injured my back too...now more than a year ago. The specialist I saw said that it was no disc injury, but muscular - some form of tear in the lower back. However, even now I have to be extremely careful lifting anything and I have not lifted heavy because...

    Lower Back Pain... nooo!

I have had a similar experience...but I injured my back on deadlifts. It took a week or so to go back to normal, but ever since I have to be absolutely 100% using correct form when it comes to lifting anything heavy from ground level. Go to a specialist and get it checked, just dont expect him...

    Lower Back Pain... nooo!

Dude...I have the same problem, my ham strings are too tight! How are you fixing it? All I am doing is stretching and warming up thoroughly before working out. I appreciate any advice you can give me.

    no artificial protein shakes???

Reflex also does something called natural whey...it is flavoured, but without artificial flavours or sweeteners, all natural so they claim. I've been using the stuff for a few years...I guess if you want a McDonalds milkshake substitute it's not great, it does not taste of much though...so it...

    overtraining???

P-funk...only just got you message, that was very helpful. Accordingly it would be ok to alternate between periods of overreaching and recuperation/transformation?

    overtraining???

Thanks DM, I'll cut the high intensitiy cardio to 1 day a week. BulkMeUp: I dont do full body work outs but work each bodypart directly once a week, and most indirectly twice. Appreciate your offer to look at my routine, but for now DM has answered my question.

    overtraining???

I've been training seriously for the last 4 years. The gains I made in the first were pretty amazing - and that without any set routine, sometimes training every day of the week...just doing what felt right on the day. Since that first year, after which I got into Gopro's routine because I was...

    The absent abs!!

You may need to cut. Great arms and legs are probably down to good training and plenty of food. I'm with gogo and 1313wolf, clean up your diet and possibly reduce the quantity so your not overdoing the calories.

    training and getting sick

Hi, over the past 8 weeks I have been struck down by colds and flu like simptoms after visiting the gym and training hard. Background: I am into my 4th year of focused training. I have seen great results over this period of time. Last summer however I injured my back doing deadlifts and was...

    anyone use 25's for deads?

I think this is pretty dangerous advice MyK. SLDL should not be performed in a way that your back goes below parallel to the floor...even done so the back is parallel to the floor puts tremendous strain on the lower back and can easily result in hyperflexion of the back.

    I threw my back out...

Zagloba: (or anyone else on this board) know what the treatment for a herniated disk? Prince: I am 21 and have injured my back doing SLDL after a heavy legg workout (including squats). Upon injury the pain ran all the ways down my left leg. Do you think it is improbably that this was cause by...

    back injury

10 days ago I was completing my last set of stiff legged Deadlifts when suddenly I heard something in my back go and I felt a shooting pain in my lower back. I was trying out the little deadlift platform which was in my gym, and I guess I lost form when i looked down on the downward motion (i...

    Weightlifting Gloves: Your Opinion

In my opinion a well fitting pair of gloves will in no way decrease grip. The first pair I owned were Gold's gym, and I found them to be useless. Poor fitting gloves will only reduce callouses slightly and grip will suffer. Having found a good pair now, I wouldnt lif without. As Prince said...

Someone help this 11st determined fella!

i would see what happens now that you are training seriously and regularly. You may find yourself "leaning out". As you build more muscle you will burn more calories even whilst resting. If you are looking for the perfect six pack, yes- cutting is a good idea at this stage, but since you are...

    Glutamine

FishOrCut- can you back up your statement? Like Rocky, I was under the impression that creatine and glutamine were in competition for receptor sites.

    Max-ot?

Hey gonzo...I wish i could help you, but whilst at University I only have access to quite inaccurate scales, or the gym scales which are really accurate, but for me hopelessly overcomplicated- type of balance scales which take me ages to adjust to the right balance (i dont know the actual name...

    Max-ot?

Provided that you have learned proper form, Max OT can really give you a leg up or help you get over a sticking point. But as has been remarked above, it is a very intensive program and will put quite a bit of stress on your body. I think enough sleep is probably the key to getting results and...
