ok, i bought Creapure Creatine and it says to take two, 5 gram servings, per day. is this too much for a 160 pound 17 year old?

i have a decent diet of about 3500 calories, and am looking to gain as much weight as i possibly can.

also... is it bad to mix glutamine with creatine in a post workout shake? i seem to remeber someone told me to take them at different times in the day, but i figured it would be best to get the glutamine in your body as soon as possible after a workout.

Why do you want to take creatine? I don't know many 17 year olds that are to tired to workout.

ive been taking creatine for about a week now, and its drastically helped my lifting. i did a loading phase with what was left of my MET-RX creatine then i deceided to buy creapure because i heard it was a better creatine.

my MET-RX says one 5 gram serving a day, where as the creapure says two, 5 gram servings a day. So i didnt know which one i should be following.

btw... thanks for the quick response.

I'd go with what the label says, there is no set amount to take.

because it not only provides energy, but more strength and power, it also produces signifigant improvment in power sports, like football.

Has that been proven? I havn't really read much on creatine. I was under the impression it only provided phosphate molecules to the ATP, and that's all it did.

its stored into muscle cells (and other cells) throughout the body where it is turned to a compound called creatine phosphate or CP which serves as a tiny source of energy for a short amount of time. It also replenishes cellular ATP reserves. therefore it would provide short explosive bursts of energy for sports that require such...like football.

creatine also boosts the pace of energy production in your muscle cells..

dude i would think at 15 you'd be using creatine. multis, whey, and creatine are a teenagers best friends.

i also load creatine w/ carbs at the beggining of my short bulks

I was under the impression that creatine was bad for this. Not for sure, but I at least remember reading that one should not do long distance running when on creatine as it may cause dehydration.

long distance running itself causes dehydration. Stay hydrated and you won't have this problem...

ya, creatine drains the water outa ya, when i first started using it a few years ago i used to cramp up constantly while i worked out simply because i wasn t drinking the extra water i should have while taking it. if you stay hydrated it has its benefits
