Hey Everybody,

I have using the Jim Wendler 5/3/1 program for the past few months now, and I can definitely see a change in my strength profile. Prior to this, I was using a body builder style program (more sets and reps, but not as much weight). I was curious how many others on here have tried the 5/3/1 program, and what have been your thoughts/results.

One major difference I can admit to is that the 5/3/1 brings a different focus to my workouts (than I had with my BB work-out). With the BB work out it was always tough to judge how successful I was from one workout to the next (the measure of success was more on a month to month basis, hoping to see noticeable changes in my physique). But with the 5/3/1 program, I'm able to gauge my successful on a daily workout basis (either you hit your PR, or you don't). That is a real motivator for me.

I look forward to seeing how other feel about this program

Sounds like you enjoy a challenge and beating your previous weeks work. If so, read up on Dogg Crap Training.

Yah, I will admit that getting measurable improvements is definitely a motivating factor for me. I will take a look at the Dogg Crap program as well (I've heard a little about it, but haven't been able to thoroughly research it yet). I've also been looking into the Westside Barbell style programs to increase strength. So many great programs out there.....so little time....

I love 5/3/1 training! I have made very good strength progress every time I have used the program. One of the best in my book!

Solid program. if you find you are more focused in the gym, then stick with it. You will definitely make strength gains.

Thanks Predator and Hammer, I definitely enjoy it so far. Even when you have an off day, it just motivates you to come back to that lift next week and CRUSH it:winkfinger:
