I have been reading soo many articles on diets now, and everyone of them suggest eating 6 meals a day. I currently eat 5 a day. I am having a problem trying to figure out, where and how to add a 6th meal...

Here is my schedual:

7:30 Breakfast
10:30 Snack
1:00 Lunch
4:00 Snack
7:00
or 8:20 Dinner ( Depends on if I work after school)

I work out either at 4:30, or 6:30 depending on work.

Would it be safe to eat another meal at around 10, 10:30? I usually go to sleep around 11:30-12. I am worried that the last meal would turn to body fat.

How do you all eat 6 meals a day?

Take how many hours you are up in the day and divide by 6, that will determine how far to space your meals.

Now are you wanting to increase your calories or stay the same? If staying the same you need to add up everything your eatting and divide by 6. You could always just have a protein shake as your 6th meal before going to bed.

That is what I was thinking, mabye intaking all(95%) carbs and fats in the first 5 meals, then having a protien shake 30 before I go to bed.

Is eating so soon before sleeping ok?

Try to space your 6 meals approx. 3 hours apart. You want to keep your body in a "fed" state. This will keep your metabolism rocking and you'll start burning some serious fat.

Just depends on what your eatting before bed. As long as it isn't pizza and stuff.

Ya low carb, low fat protien shake should be fine right?

a casien protein like Cottage cheese

Or some whey and a fat source like flax to slow digestion.

hey,
Not only is a protein shake before going to sleep a good idea, that's an awesome idea! That will definetly help your body recover while you rest.
Also, if you're trying to bulk, I wouldn't worry too much about getting in 6 meals a day, so long as you get in your protein, carbs, fat. Anyways, when I am training, whenever I can eat, I do. I gave up on a "schedule", or 6 meals, a long time ago.

Peace

Whether you wake up early enogh or not just make sure you get all your cals in and they are divded up between your meals. Sometimes I wake up late and only get five meals so they are bigger meals than on days when I wake up early enough to get 7 or 8 meals in.

i like eating a nice clean protein only meal right before bed. some swordfish or chicken or something like that.

Low fat, high protein.

your next meal would be 10pm before bed, e.g. a protein drink.

Thanks for the help guys, shake before bed starting today!

No problem, just to be more specific it's best to only have protein and some fat before bed (no carbs).

I have a whey protein shake (about 40 grams) mixed in water, and a tablespoon of natural peanut butter (to slow down absorption of protein).

You could also use a protein blend, like whey/casein/egg.

I have this protein powder that is supposed to be time release, so that should take care of it.

Its Designer Whey w/Glycerlean.

six meals a day doesn't help me build myself up so if I need to have say 7-8 I just divide the time I am up by 7 or eight right?
