Hey I am wondering, I hear a lot of people talking about how they eat 6 meals a day because they lift. I am just wondering what you would consider a meal? Would a couple of sandwitches count a meal or does it have to be actually 6 good full meals?

thanks for your time

6 smaller meals instead of 3 large meals
most non bodybuilder type people would probably consider one of our meals a snack.

1 can of tuna between 2 pieces of whole wheat bread with some ultra lowfat miracle whip = 1 meal
for me anyway
meal size also depends on whether you are trying to gain weight or loose weight.

6 smaller meals instead of 3 large meals makes it easier to digest and makes use of nutrients better, and also keeps your metabolism working faster.

I would suggest keeping your meals at 350 cals apiece spread over 4 meals. Post workout will contain at least 500 and your last one will be only 100-200 cals.

Exercise, my drug of choice

I found that after changing my eating schedule from 2/3 meals (2 when I skipped breakfast) to 5/6 your body kind of tells you how much is enough. It's hard to describe and it might take a little bit to get used to - not to mention, the people at work think I eat non stop all day long because I eat like every 2 hours!!

The size of each meal will depend on your daily caloric intake. If you're eating 2500 calories per day spread over 6 meals, then each meal might average around 400 calories, give or take. Personally, I only eat 5 meals per day.
