I am not a competitive bodybuilder but would like to ask a question in reguards to a competitve bodybuilders training cycles. As a personal trainer i give my client a periodised programme which goes a little like this: Endurance training to build a good training foundation, strength endurance, hypertrophy 8-12 reps, hypertrophy 6-8 reps, basic strength 4-5 reps. this is done by using the linear training. Would i be right if i say that a competitive bodybuilder might train with lower sets and reps with heavier weights in the off season. And higher reps, lighter weights with more volume to hit the muscle from every angle in pre comp.
