a trivial question about lean diets

a somewhat heavy set gym buddy of mine and i were having a discussion.he tells me he wants to lose the extra thickness on his face, and his forming double chin. basically i told him to start lean dieting (6 meals a day etc) and it should get him somewhere.

this may be a stupid thing to ask, but did i give him the correct advice? the man wants a sleeker face and more defined cheeks, is there something better that he can do for himself rather than what i told him?

Although some facial features (eg: good cheekbones etc) is somewhat based on genetics then a weight loss diet, in conjunction with a healthy training program (weights +/- cardio) would be the the best chance he has of loosing the double chin.... Unless your friend is someone who would go for liposuction. ;)
 
Some people somehow can´t lose that fat in the face, it is a mystery to me too. Plastic surgery if a cutting doesn´t work is the only option. He could try facial exercises but I really don´t think that is gonna work.
 
is he lean everywhere else?
