How much does alchohol affect muscle growth and mass? Does it?
 
nowa days its normal for 16 year olds to do drugs and drink.

2. Alcohol dehydrates you
3. Alcohol slows down your metabolism
4. Alcohol inhibits protein synthesis
5. Alcohol blocks the absorption of nutrients to the muscles
6. Alcohol lowers testosterone
7. Alcohol increases estrogen
8. Alcohol consumption is catabolic

I'm by no means an alchoholic or anything, but I do enjoy good party, mainly its because that's where I meet my women. :thumb:

I know you are 16 and have the "it can't happen to me" attitude... but this is exactly how every alcoholic started out. Nobody sets out to be an addict of anything when they are first starting out but somehow there sure seems to be a lot of them.

With all the things you quotted from Jodi I say bottoms up. Now and then in moderation its ok. However if you are serious about what you are doing then definitly try and cut it out all together. Besides you are 16 how often could you possibly drink? I know at 16 I had never touched the stuff and didnt until I was 18. I was much to focused on my weights. And it shows today, and I am happy I left booze alone until I got older. And even at that, I wish I never touched it at all. :cry:

That and education.

I do admit I will get tanked every once in awhile, but it's pretty rare. I stayed away from it completley until a couple of weekends ago. I drank some beers then, then the following weekend too. Now, I probably won't drink again for quite awhile. It's more like a beer every once in awhile for me. Definatly not an everyday or even every weekend thing...
