Hello All,
My name is Anthony, I am 6'8 and to 295 lbs... I quit smoking last year and have worked out approx 3 1/2 hours a day, 6 days on and 1 day off since november. I am starting to see genuine real results and I often enjoy forums so when I came across this one I thought I would join and attempt to be active on it..

wow... that is way, way, way too much working out

I think it is safe to say you may be overtraining. 1 hour a day 3-4 times a week is a lot better and you will see better results. Your body needs time to heal.

This of course assumes that your diet is in check.

What kind of a split are you doing? What are your goals? How many calories are you eating and what is the macro breakdown?

3 1/2 hours 6 days a week is very much, i feel your slacking somewhat

Bad decision, you are going to start smoking again in no time.

Welcome to IM

I hope most of that 3 1/2 hours is cardio and not weight lifting

well, I am over the smoking hump so I really feel like im ok there... I 've been taking in 400 grams of protien a day(300 grams of whey and 100 grams of soy), 10 grams of creatine, some other "supplements", "vitimans", 3 lbs of brochili a day, 1 lbs of carots, a bundle of spinich, and either a serving of fish or chicken...I have cut out all red meat and dairy. And have drasticly changed my diet. I am trying to better myself... no fast food for me lol

my work out consists of 1 hour of cardio generaly 1/2 hour on the bike and half hour walking or slight jog, can generaly get 2 1/2 miles in. then I do the actual weights for 2 1/2 hours.. ive been told im overdoing it but I am seeing such results that ya I may be going overboard but at this juncture roughly 120 days in Im addicted to it. Ive been doing upper body one day, lower body the next, although everyday I do 200 push ups and 100 sit-ups and 100 crunches as well as the regualar workout.. I feel like if I slow down I am going backwards ...

am i crazy?

to answer your last question right off the bat....yes!

first, cardio immediately prior to lifting compromises your training. not to mention, an hour of cardio 6x per week is not necessary under any circumstance IMO. 2 1/2 hours of lifting at any time is not a good idea and very catabolic, especially following that long cardio session. it's one thing to train but training effectively is an entirely different animal. i understand you're making progress but if your program was set up TOTALLY different, you'd get better results and faster. you're WAY overdoing it. food for thought ;).

welcome to IM :).

I agree... you are way overdoing it.

... also 400 grams of protein (not even counting the protein from food) is too much protein for anyone. Your body can't use that much.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Noob question:

Wouldn't the body turn the protein it dosnt use into fat?

you need an hour of weights, then about half hour cardio with high intensity. As far as too much protein....bull. You need that much if you are 6'8" and almost 300 lbs. Good work, keep at it and get educated by reading and asking questions and you will be a machine in no time at all. I quit smoking a few years back and never looked back... what a shitty habit it is eh?!!
Oh, and skip the pushups everyday and do abs every other day but more intense. You need rest, thats when you grow.

Lay off the powders and add more chicken and fish those count as proteins too. Cut down on the workouts unless you're an endurance athlete.
