So I am going on my honeymoon(Jamaica:joint:) in June and am looking to lose some pounds. I have been bulking for almost 6 months now and have put on some unwanted fat around my midsection. Currently I am 6' 220lbs, already down from 230.

My daily meal plan varies and isn't really ever the same. My macros, however are always very close. I aim for 200-250g of protein, 100g of healthy fats(olive oil, peanut butter), and 100g carbs with less that 30g of those being from sugar(usually from peanut butter). It works out to around 2300cal a day total. Now my maintenance according to myplate on livestrong.com is 2800cal/day. Figuring in my exercise and lifting I net around 1700cals a day which will put me at -2lbs/week. Is this too little? I understand that I am going to sacrifice some muscle to burn the most fat.

Thanks!

Looks pretty good.

Determining your maintenance through experience rather than a website calculator will give you more accurate results, but as long as you are losing fat, it looks like you'll be fine.

Thanks, I have been waiting for a refeed/cheat day until I plateau and so far 9 days in and I am still lighter every day.

Looks good to me. Im 5'8" and 210lbs and im using a 2300 calorie a day cut and ive come down from 216 in a week. I know its too fast, but im hoping it stabilizes this week. Looks good. You can even cut a few grams of protein for more carbs(not necessary though). You are right about where im at.

Most of that is water weight. Instead watch the downward TREND in weight and how you fit in your clothes to get a sense of fat loss.

Yea, i have no doubt it was water weight. Im at about 100-120ounces of water daily now. Im just sticking to my 2300 calories and not budging one way or another until i plateau for about 3-4 weeks. Enough about me, i have a thread:)

Yeah, my first 2 days I lost 5lbs... all bloat. The first thing I realized when keeping track of my cals is how easy it is to overdo sodium, even without adding it to food.

As long as you aren't hypertensive, sodium is a good thing --- helps hold water around your muscle tissues. No need to restrict it, rather, using it liberally is a good idea
