Greetings Jodi or whomever wishes to pay attention ;) I'm about 5'9", 215lbs, don't know my currant body fat % but am an amature bodybuilder with the NPC. I haven't compete yet but intend to by the end of next year. I am having the popular problem of losing this damn spar tire as well as the rest of the fat on my body. I know my diet isn't as structured as it could be, I probly eat too many refined and simple sugars, too much butter and mayo and not enough of anything else. Money is a little tight at times so I can't always eat the 3 chicken breasts a day plus my Met-Rx and whey protien. I do the best I can but I do not expect a miracle, I have been out of the gym for almost 5 monthes what with school last spring and my girlfriend. Now I'm starting my own business surrounded about bodybuilding and I need to look the part. Can you help tell me what I might do to lose the fat while gaining the muscle that I need?
I can up-my cardio if neccesary and eat allot cleaner, if that's the case than it's all a subject of will power hehe. At any rate your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanx.

you answered you own question, just clean up that diet and get to the gym. :)

the end

I remember when my father was competing in his first competition, he never ate butter or anything over 5 grams of fat per meal. If I cut out the mayo the butter the refined sugars like the occasional mounds bar-would the efa's be a siutable replacement? I understand the body needs this anyhow but as it is I don't need the added insuline spike in my diet or the fat is causes.

again, read the link I provided, if you still have questions after that...

may I ask what this "bodybuilding business" is? my concern is if you have to ask us such basic dieting questions how are you going to be qualified for this business? (not meaning to offend with that question either) :)

I take no offence from the question Rob. To be honest sometimes I get a little side tracked, I have alot going on in my life right now as far as the business that I wish to start and my schooling as well as my job. I have many friends that are bodybuilders.
One is pro in the naturals and the other a former Mr. Oregon 3 times over. I get TONS of info when I need it but it's not always there for me. I don't boast about being the best or an expert about deiting and training and what not-I know a great deal and conitnue to learn every day. My problem lies in my self dicipline, I just need to hunker down and do what I already know I must do. Without ever having done a show myself I am lacking the "war time" knowledge that I require as a proficient bodybuilder, that will come with time. My biggest problem will come when I want to slim down for a show, I'v have never done anything like that before obviously and I'll need the help than. For now I'm learning as much as possible to help younger bodybuilders and in-experienced ones in the manner that I was assisted wen I was first starting.
The business that I'm trying to start is my own clothing line and soon after that to go into selling supplements online. My website will be information based at first just training, diets, etc. That is why it is so important to me that I keep on track and try to be the best at what i want to do. I haven't been practicing diligence very well, other than that I can get by just fine. But I appreciate your input Mr. D.
