American Swim Coach Accuses Chinese Swimmer of Doping

If a white girl from Florida was swimming faster than the fastest male swimmer in the world, I would question wether or not she was jutting.

This is all a moot point tho as all of these athletes are using some sort of ped.

If you're not cheating, you're not trying and its only cheating if you get caught.

I'm all about "if you're not cheating you're not trying." It just pisses me off that when Michael Phelps wins, the media goes out of their way to identify every factor of his life that helped contribute to his success, from perfect natural genetics, to a diet crafted down to the single calorie, to the most rigorous daily training known to man. And yet here we have a Chinese girl who has passed all the same screenings as the Americans, and can swim faster than the Americans, and the first inclination is to overlook genetics, discipline, and determination, and just brand her a cheater.

Either come out with it that they're all cheating, thus making an even playing field anyway, or hold your fucking allegations until we have substantial reason to believe they're true. If you match the #1 women's tennis player in the world up against the #300 men's player, the man will likely win with ease. Same with the top WNBA player against most Division I men's players. Here we have a woman beating the top times from male Olympians, and rather than celebrating it as we have every time an American has ever been successful (remember how desperately fans and analysts wanted Marion Jones's name to be cleared?), we just brand a 16-year-old girl a dirty fucking cheater.

Christ, this is the jingoistic aspect of the Olympics I can't stand.

4 years ago we branded a bunch of 10 year olds dirty theaters. They happened to be Chinese gymnasts.

If a 16 or hell even 20 year old woman ran faster than bolt in the 100, would you think she was juicing?

BTW, I agree with the hypocrisy of the media. You're right, when someone who isn't an American does anything great, they are cheaters and should be hung

I've already established all of these athletes are looking for an edge. But just wondering whether someone is "doping" or not is a helluva lot different than running a hundred different stories in every media market in the country insinuating someone is doping without any substantiation. And by the way, I could even launch a smear campaign if I wanted to. It wouldn't be fair or honest, but I'm just a fucking dude with a laptop, who has zero obligation to be professional or act with integrity. You know who does have that obligation? The fucking coaches, officials, and so-called journalists who are perpetuating bullshit and innuendo without a grain of fact.

Absolutely disgusting the way the media is running this story. Saw it on the nightly news... they were saying how "china has a long history of cheating with performance enhancing drugs" and other BS like that. Made me furious... no shiit.... you know what other countries have plenty of past history involving PED'S? Hrmmm.... maybe the US of mother fucking A. Germany. Russia. ETC. Everybody cheats at that level, it's insulting to act like the US is better than China and clearly this girl is "cheating" and blah blah blah. Good for the girl, good for the chinese for having a solid drug program. I was at a very high level years ago as a sprinter.... almost everyone was on stuff. It's a combo of genetics + best training + best team doctors/drug protocols. To act like phelps/lochte, etc. are clean is foolish. If ya aint cheating ya aint trying. The bigger story would be who ISN'T on some form of PED's at the olympics. Hahah now THERE would be an interesting story.
