any baseball card fanatics?

As a kid, for some stupid reason everyone would buy me baseball cards for just about every holiday that presents were offered. I didn't have any interest then, nor do I now. I'm moving, and I seriously don't want to lug them with me through yet another move. I have probably (can't really remember) three 35 gallon plastic containers stuffed to the top. All the individual boxes of cards have never been opened. I know nothing about these things. Should I toss em? How do I know if there's likely to be anything worth while in there? Would someone buy them as individual boxes and take a gamble? Should i bring them somewhere and have them gone card by card?

You'll get more for them in a better economy. Depending on the era, they may be worth something down the road. I too have shit loads of them from the early 90's, in a closet now, gf wants to use for other storage, they'll probably be tossed out one day while I'm at work...

Sports and trading cards have taken a huge decrease in value with the economy going down. It is assumed that when/if the economy picks back up, then so will the value of the cards. I have a huge host of cards from as far back as the 60's through the 00's, including some random signed ones and a few rookie cards that are currently worth squat. Even the rare ones are worth somewhere in the $0.75-$2.00 range.

You could likely sell a random "lot" of cards on ebay, specifying a range of years and series in the set, which people will sometimes buy for a fair amount in hopes that they will get something rare. If you do this, it's best to take a picture of everything with what looks like might be worth something on the top of the pile.

Collected a ton of cards as a kid. Mostly baseball and football. Most of them aren't worth much, but a few are pretty valuable. Probably never sell them, though.

they are probably nowhere near worth the cost of storing them and carting them around all these years let alone the hours it would take to go through them and research values just to realize they aren't worth anything. donate them to your local boy scout troop and be done with it.
