I got asked to bounc for a popular club in my city before, but after finding out what kind of people bouncers are i decided that it's not for me..Most of those guys are criminals and drug addicts...But maybe I just have high standarts and morals, (I do live in utah)

Whaddya want to know? Most of the time, walk around, people know who you are. You are a 'physical deterrant'. usually I am talking w/people, taking out trash, picking up glasses, etc. once in a while, have to 'invite' somebody to leave or break up something.
I did toss out some emo ninja out last Saturday...talking smack about putting the 'death touch' on me. I just gave him the crazy eye...he started to cry, then I walked him to the door..

hate to say it...as usaully joked about..but that line from Road House comes in.
Be nice.
You are the professional. Be respectful. If you are doing your job, alot of the times you can stop a situation before they start or get out of hand.
If goes to a fight, you contain and remove without (try at least) disturbing the rest of the customers who are having a good time.

what...u do'nt see that ads on mid-day Tv or late night ads? earn your college degree right at your very own home? tv repaiman...electrician, bouncer...all reputable degree programs! guranteed...with your paid 'tuition' of only! 19.95 to get job offers starting at almost 100,00 per year!

Back in the 70's and 80's I owned my own bodyguard service. Most popular person I bodyguarded for was David Hasslehoff for a high rollers poker tourney in Las Vegas.

The rest were just rich assholes who hired me to be around so they could impress chicks and act like there shit didn't stink.

Pay was good. I had a Min charge of $750 and that got them 3 hrs. After that it was $100 a hr.

Sometimes that will get someone to one up you, it doesn't have to neccessarily be that. Be "respected," but not everyone is the same obviously. No matter what you look like or seem like you may have some stories of your own anyway.

One of my 'favorites,' was a friend of mine bouncing up in Canada after leaving the US some years ago. During a fight some kid was so freaked out he started stabbing his own friend, didn't kill him but was just sticking anything that moved.
