I put off buying these for years and now regret it. Been having pain behind my right pinkie toe when barefoot on hard surfaces so I thought I'd pick up a pair. Pluses they were 40% off.

I love them. Have barly taken them off. My legs are way stronger and my knees don't hurt at all. And that pain behind the toe isn't there when wearing. Heard on the radio that 30 minutes of barefoot a day can elevate knee pain and I can attest to it.

Now I do every workout in them unless I run. Not there just yet.

Got myself some a few moths ago after creating a thread here and getting good advise.

Definitely noticed a decrease in ankle, knee and back pain during and after my cardio sessions. They also make you change up your gait to a more neutral stride.

Although they look ugly as hell, they work. I'm flatfooted and these shoes are definitely worth it

had to gradually work into them for running, very gradually. but they're definitely g2g. i kept getting shin splits over and over. i'd start 8 weeks of R.I.C.E.Nsaids and as soon as i started running again, they'd come right back. after the last bout, i got some of these and haven't had shin splints since. taking the toe pull, heel drive and forward kick out of my gait "magically" solved it. i'm in merrel barefoots right now, but only because i'm deployed and the roads are made of dirt and massive rocks.
also, i love the true contact with the floor when doing squats, deads, and cleans. the movement feels more stable than lifting in soft soled shoes.

That's awesome to hear. RaZr sorry I missed that thread. I'm glad they're working for you guys too. I'm kinda hoping I can wear these on stage.

How are the merrels different? The vibrams are the only ones I've seen I guess besides some knock offs.

Ive been wanting them since they came out but never knew if they were worth it. I guess they are though! :) ive heard nothing but great things about them. Now you have me wanting them again! Lol

Adidas makes some, but they are more specific for the gym and cross training. I haven't researched into Merrel's, but check out Vevobarefoot. Their selection is really good and they have a site dedicated to the proper "barefoot/neutral" stride. I watched the videos and completely revamped my gait and stride. Definitely made a difference.

the merrels i'm using are a minimalist regular shoe. very thin vibram sole, no heel rise. the next best thing to a toe shoe.

Fuck the 5 toes...the New Balance Minimus is the SHIT! And you dont look like a retard in them
