Just curious if anyone else here rides a motorcycle? If so, what kind, and where? And how about some pics!?

I ride an old Heritage Classic, and most likely have a trade going for my old muscle truck for an Ironhead Chopper.

A couple pics of mine, one with bags, and one without.

I was riding motorcycles at the age of 12, we had a 90cc trail bike, automatic, just engage and go...then I got a 125cc dirtbike and then I started taking my dad's CB750 to school, taking all the back roads because I had no license.... There's nothing like a lonely long ride on empty roads on a motorcycle, I'd say it's a spiritual experience, the bike has your whole body buzzing, the wind through your hair has numbed your skull, the tunnel vision of speed has narrowed all distractions so that you feel at one with everything, you can't even fight to hold back the tears cause the wind rips them out of your eyes. There you are baring your flesh to the world, you don't care if it get's torn from your body cause for now you are free....you're not locked in the safety of your metal box. shielded against the wind, you have nothing to hold you snug and safe if you fall....you're just out there and it feels good....

I used to. I had an RD350 back in the eighties. Busted my right collarbone on it - there's ten months of my life and a perfect collarbone I'll never get back.

Fun as hell though!

You just ensured that I will be riding this week regardless of the weather. Nice post man, do you still ride?
Rarely, I have a friend who rents Harley's so I borrow one from him and we ride but it's been too long since the last time....

I fall real well. I wrecked 6 months ago and should be dead. I said I would never ride again but the urge is picking up steam!

I've luckily never laid down a street bike, but I've destroyed several handlebars, forks, levers and pegs on my dirt bikes....

When I get back to the 'States am getting an R1...and if I stay here long enough, a Harley as well...and a WR450...sometimes being single with a pile of $$ in the pocket can be a good thing...

She wreaks bikes, keep her away from yours...;)

Used to have an 01 R6, would love to ride again - hopefully within a years time!

Ask her what happened to that RD350.....

I know what she did but you wrote that she "wreaks" bikes, and because I could think of anything funny to go with wreaks definition of bringing about or exacting, I used it's homonym "reek".....

I ride a motorbike every day.

A small honda wave. I've been riding for about 7 years.

Been lucky, so far (knock on wood) - no wrecks.

For the record - I put the RD down - I didn't total it - I'M the one who got totaled!

It was the first and last bike I ever had.

I do sometimes think of getting another one though... usually in the spring, when the fresh smell of "motorcycle" is in the air... then I reach up and feel my protruding, distorted collarbone and I just buy another pair of shoes.

you know..they have nice, safe...3-wheeled kind now...

:)

bad thing about having a bike in the spring....
there you are...perfect spring morning. You ride to the gym. hesitnat to get off and go in. Trying to work out, you cant get your head into it....a glance out the window, where its parked. All shiny and seemingly beckoning to you. You look back down a the DB rack and try to get ready for that next set. You glance over again...almost hear her calling your name. Looking behind the bike, you see the Rocky Mountains...just waiting to be tamed.
Screw it.
back to the locker room, change into your riding gear, almost feeling guilty that you are cheating until you swing your leg over the bike, put the key into the ignition and fire her up. Any thought of regret vanishes from your face to be replaced by a smile that will not be easily wiped off.
Cinchnig your helmet strap down and closing the visor, you ease the bike into gear and head toward the mountains...the day is yours....

....almost didnt make it to work that day either....

I just got my license in October and bought this 2007 Sportster 1200XLC

Nice looking scooter, Clem-
if I do add a HD to my garage, I'm thinking Fatboy so I can take comfy weekend trips

That is all stock too. Wait to you see what it looks like in the spring.

I considered getting a Dyna, but in the end I didn't want that much invested in my first bike.

The 1200 is plenty of bike for anyone! People who down sporties have just never been on one. My buddy has a 1200 and I'll tell you what, when we ride together that little sporty can scoot! Great looking bike!

Burner, if comfort is your main concern you should look at a road king. They still keep that cruiser look, but have the touring comfort.
