Guys,

I just purchased a Back/Chest expander and the "Perfect Pushup" in order to have some home esercise equipment when I can't get to the gym. Has anyone used or is using either or both pieces of exercise equipment? Do you consider them to be valuable pieces of exercise equipment?

What are they and how much do they cost?

In almost all circumstances, youd probably have been better off buying a set of adjustable dumbells.

Description of devices

The Back/Chest expander costs 12 U.S dollars. It's adjustable rubber bands that you pull. It's produced by Altius. The perfect pushup is a device created by a former navy seal. It's basically 2 rotating handles that you turn as you do pushups.

Cost of perfect pushup

I forgot to say this- the cost of the perfect pushup is 40 U.S dollars.

I've seen these on one of those infomercials on TV - amazing what goofy shit they come up with for people to avoid picking up a weight.

Goals

My level is intermediate and my goals are to build muscle.

Sell those things on ebay, and buy some weights or get a gym membership.

Sometimes you need to invest money as well as effort and time to get results, and while those devices may give some results for a short time (if that) they are no substitute for basic equipment.

Been better off buying a 25kg sack of rice..
lift it military press, squats, run with it, then eat it

You're onto something there, mate :clapping:

Edible lifting equipment, lol.

I have a pair of perfect pushups, and believe me, no matter how much you bench, if you use this thing correctly, your chest will burn. Don't knock it till you rock it. Follow the included chart, and you will see.

And??? holding the pushup position isometrically will make your chest burn. Its just another late night product with good marketing. Buy it if you want, but its not necessary for development. Its like saying just because the ab-lounge makes your abs burn that it might be worth it. Buy up all the crap on the market if you really want to.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not sales pitching, but it is a good tool for the "can't make it to the gym days". compared to doing regular pushups, it does make a big difference with the results. It is good for endurance, but hey, JIMO.

a guy brought the perfect push up to our gym and left it in the aerobics room?
ive used it a few times for warming up

but it definitely does not compare to some good ol db press...

probably more beneficial than regular push ups

I've used similar things to the perfect pushup, and while the movement is slightly different, its not different or revolutionary enough to justify spending money on it.

If youre gonna spend money you may aswell buy some dumbells.
