Video isnt as impressive as I thought, I am sure there will be critics on squat depth, but I have been taking some board members advice and pre exhausting my legs before squats so my hams and quads were extremely tight it was hard to go down deep. I need to work on better flexibility in my quads because they get so tight its hard to get deep. But here we go...

Also my legs had about 3 more reps in them, but I started feeling like I was going to passout. This was deep into our leg workout.

really bro if you walked away with a pump and made gains from those reps... who cares what another 3 inches would have done. I found the video impressive for what its worth

i think it was near deep enuff...but the bar was high on the neck and you bent forward...gotta try to sit back into it a little

i have been working on this more. It has improved ALLOT over the past few months. The bar sits right on my shoulders and below my traps. anything lower i fear its going to slide down and thing hire my traps feel like there going to blow up.

I'd say the flexibility of the posterior chain is what's needed to go deeper, not so much the quads. I've been working on this myself. Stretching the hams, glutes, adductors. All the tie ins from the leg that pull on the hip need to give when we go down deep. Other wise they pull the hip and we get a posterior tilt when that happens. That will totally screw up the sacral and lumbar region. I'm getting deeper little by little. I think I even have my fat ass just below parallel now.
 
man I thought that was a great set - you set quite a tempo. Going any lower could have been risky considering the weight.

Btw I sit my bar similar to you, dont like it too close to the neck.

yeah my legs are so tight that i cant cant even break parallel without coming up on my toes when my knees are wrapped up. Unwrapped i can just hit below 90, but need to work on flexibility my massage therapist has been doing 15 mins of stretching with me now. I see her every two weeks. I was not a first believe in massage, but the pump is insane that i get now and just breaking town the tissue is allowing more blood to hit my legs and more vains are showing each week.
 
Good shit Jay. Not bad form considering the weight. Looked good to me! I always need a spot for better form on 405. Good shit though

Massage definitely is a go to thing. Soft tissue gets tight and pulls on everything. Not just muscle but the fascia as well. Have to break up all the adhesion's and if you haven't been getting massages prior it's definitely a necessity. Some deep tissue work will be painful but the eventual release will make you question "Why the hell did I wait so long?"

Please tell me you do more stretching then 15 minutes every 2 weeks... lol

yeah that is just with my therapist, my wife is also an athletic trainer and do goes through stretches on the muscle group i hit every night.
 
wow this is crazy... i just noticed because I joined the forum oct 2011 which was the same month i started working out again after a 6 year or so lay off. Crazy 2 years ago i was squatting 185 and fat as fuck.
