Hi All.

As you can guess from the name, I'm in sunny Arizona. Winters are excellent. Summers can burn the paint off of your car (really !).

48+ yrs old, married male, 35+ yrs bodybuilding and powerlifting. Competed as a teen and into my 20's. Then a drunk driver hit me and ended my desire to compete - lucky me.

Still try to workout as much as my tired, old, beat-up body, and my work schedule allow though.

Prefer home gym training by a long shot. Commercial gyms are great and I've been a member of many. However, they just don't work for me. So... In addition to lifting, I built a pretty good home (garage) gym that I'm quite happy with.

Hopefully, I can lend some advice from time to time as to home gyms.

Later... (and remember - Its a dry heat ;) )

AZIronMine welcome to IM

If you know of any power lifting gyms in or around Tempe AZ let me know, right now I'm at LA Fitness and it blows.

Hey Foreman Rules. Thanks for the welcome !

Sorry, not aware of a powerlifting gym in the area. There is a decent heavy iron gym up on Cave Creek, somewhere around Greenway, west side of road in a strip mall. Can't recall the name. What I like to call a "pit" (meant in a positive way). Lots of iron and no shiny pretty stuff, but mostly a BB's hang out.

There have been some really good powerlifters who've come out of Phoenix in the past, so I am sure there is one (or more) here somewhere. I can ask around.

I'm pretty much sold on home gym training. Can't compete any more due to injuries, but I still try to hit it heavy when I can. Have a pretty decent setup in my garage. Take a look at the pic gallery on my site when you have a chance.

If I hear of something, I'll post it for you.
