I believe it's caused by a dramatic increase in blood flow to certain muscles. The muscles get engorged causing pressure. I'm not an expert, so feel free to correct me, but I would think the pain is the only problem w having pumps. I get them in calves and lower back when using dbol or tbol.
This is good advice^. I use taurine and drink large quanities of water throughout the day. I still get them but they are managable. Before I started using the Taurine I was doing BB rows with 315 and by the time I finished my second set I was so pumped in my lower back I had a hard time walking out of the gym. I actually came back later to finish back all I completed was deads and bb Rows and I was out. If the pain is moderate work through it but if it gets too bad you will have to lay off til the pump subsides otherwise you may be risking injury if it is a serious back pump.
