Banned stimulant found in Hyperdrive 3.0 (*for the second time)
by Anthony Roberts
In 2009, the FDA warned consumers not to take ALR Industries Venom Hyperdrive 3.0 because it contained the prescription appetite suppressant sibutramine, a schedule IV controlled substance. More recently, in 2010, an American cyclist tested positive for oxilofrine, a banned stimulant more commonly known as methylsynephrine in the dietary supplement industry, and listed on the Venom 3.0 label. Oxilofrine is mixed-adrenergic agonist similar to ephedrine.
Fittingly, Flavia Oliveira, the cyclist who knowingly ingested this compound, is being held accountable for his actions, as the banned stimulant was listed on the label. He was given a 2 year suspension.
Still, none of this explains the recent online uproar against Humapro???.
