Whats ur opinion on Beef Jerkey? Good food to help build muscle?

It can be good for an extra protein snack (instead of a Protein Bar, for example), but a lot of the sticks are loaded with sodium.

I used to eat them, but when I saw the amount of sodium in the ones I was eating (over 1500mg), I quit.

If I could find some with less sodium, I'd still use them for a snack from time to time.

Loaded with sodium indeed, but god damn is it a tasty, high protein snack.

JERKY GOOD.

As long as it is low fat then you could use it as a quick and easy high protein snack if you wanted...

Also - if your diet is generally low in sodium then don't get too concerned with the salt content... As long as your kidneys are functioning it shouldn't be a problem... But you can also get low-sodium varieties too... Or, if you REALLY want jerky and can't find low sodium then get yourself a dehydrator and make your own!! :D

Biltong pwns beef jerkey. Beef jerkey is disgusting compared with Biltong.

Biltong is the man. I got some in South Africa a few years ago.

I love beef jerky and think it is a great bodybuilding snack. I don't think it's a good idea to have it as a staple in your diet to be eaten everyday though with all the processing it's had. Of course who could afford to do that anyways?

I drink over a gallon a day, so I dont think the sodium is a problem, but I do eat a small amount everyday at work, as a snack between lunch and dinner.
