I got zero advice, but good luck to you Danny. Its good you are trying to become experienced in everything you can. Best of luck.

thanks. i started out wrestling in order to help advance my ground game in UFC but it is really fun and i want to get much better. i am guessing in a MMA fight i would put my left foot forward so i guess i should practice with that while wrestling. is that right?

yah. i worked well with it. i really didnt think about it most of the time while wrestling. im guessing it was just a bad bruise or something. it did swell up badly tho. the only time it hurt was when i was hand fighting and it got slapped hard and when i got tooken down and llanded on the hand

Well that's good. Just keep icing it, it'll get better in no time.

As for training for the UFC thing, I would practice wrestling when you are wrestling. Learn everything they have to teach you, and when you finally get to train MMA specifically, you can apply the things you learned at wrestling to your MMA training.

One thing at a time my friend, you'll get there. :thumb:

thanks. so should i start with my right foot forward?

Are you right-handed or left? I wouldn't go changing things just to change them. Just keep drilling what they teach you at camp and everything will fall into place.

You've got more than most already by having the drive to do what you are doing. The rest will fall into place when the time comes.

yah. i have. i am planni on doing them after a few months of lifting. good idea or should i start sooner?
The short description of plyometrics is that this is a way of exercising the muscles for a repetitive impact sport. This system helps you prevent injuries from fast movements, or from strong energies suddenly placed on a muscle group. It vastly improves your ability to maintain muscle exertion for long periods of time, and increases your power and strength through the entire range of motion. The added increase of burst speed is hard to get from other forms of exercise.

Jumping rope is a plyometric exercise. So are clap push-ups. Seated twists are killer for a full core exercise. I'll take a stack of plates and set them next to me and slightly behind. Then I'll grab a plate and place it on the other side of me while doing as much of the work from the waist as possible. When the stack is done I'll rinse and repeat so the weights are back where they started. I'll start out slow with low weights the first few times then increase my speed as I go. Now imagine using that same motion when on your feet vs. your opponent ... with extreme power and speed. :)

Plyometrics is the shiznit for wrestling. I'm do ply's for bj. It's helped out my stamina and reduced the quantity of sore days big time.

First and foremost you have a wrestling coach. Go and ask HIM what he thinks of ply's. Different people have different methods so go with what coach say over anything you hear here. Within reason that is. He's prolly a good coach, but I've seen some real idiots wearing a coach's whistle.
