I've been lifting for five years and its only recently that I've had to take a long break due to injury, about eight weeks. My diet got thrown off, but I kept taking my protein shakes and kept my calorie intake about the same if not more. I know I gained some bad weight, mostly in my midsection. I weighed myself today and I'm ten pounds heavier. I kept my overall mass and look more beefier, like on bulk cycle. I went to the gym today and I still have good strength like as if I didn't stop lifting for that long. I doubt I gained 10 lbs. Of fat but can I possibly gained some muscle from taking that long break? I haven't been that stagnant though, been going to PT training only my legs. My right leg lost significant size and my left leg is 2.5 in. Bigger at mid thigh. I would assume the left leg evened out weight by taking on some lost weight from the right leg...Ten pounds is a lot and I don't see that much gain in fat on me. Any thoughts or reasoning ?

I don't take drink protein shakes when I stop working out, just like you it goes straight to my stomach.

Muscle memory is amazing isn't it.
