Just wondering which is the best all around nutrient/carb/whateverwise veggie(s). Basically if there were only a few good ones that i should stick to which would they be? Also which are the worst?

If it makes a difference im on a bulk.

i like broccoli or spinach. But i think spinach tops out over broccoli... Popeye knew what he was talking about. :D

i would have to say broccoli

I like brocoli but lettuce is cheap and quick to prepare.

Personally - I could not narrow it down. There are different vegetables that have different benefits and, with the exception of the root and starchy vegetables (eg: potato, parsnip... and may be carrots to a certain extent etc) they can basically be eaten ad. lib without doing anyone any great harm (unless they eat a butt-load)!!

Basically - all vegetables are good vegetables... :)

[note - pea's and corn are not vegetables ;) ]

Huh, that slipped by me....they're starchy, but if not a veg then what are they? Or vegetables are defined as the leafy green variety.

Where do peas and corn fit in (besides higher GI and starch)?

...so they go against carb source totals, where regular 'vegetables' are fiber, vitamin and mineral sources?

Is that what you meant?

peas are technically legumes and corn is a grain.
