Okay, the Patriots streak is over. They are a great team. Some would say as good as has ever played. Are they? Who was better?

YOU CAN WRITE IN ANY TEAM POLL ONLY ALLOWED 4 CHOICES

I'm taking my Steel Curtain. 4 Super Bowls in 6 years in a more competitive league. They rewrote the rule book every spring to try and slow them down.

i grew up in the 70's watching the steelers. im originally from up north, so they were my team. they had it all imo.

Doh! You forgot the undefeated Dolphins-Best of all time!

I grew up in the 70's also. The Steelers where my first introduction to football with my Father. I cheered for them because he did. Eventually I learned and played the game, all because of the Steelers!!!

That was one season though, granted it was perfect. We're talking decades.

It was not one season! They went to the Superbowl three straight years 72, 73, 74! With a combined regular season record those three years of 36-5-1.

But heck your right they shouldn't be on this list.

Oh yeah, they also finished first or tied for first in their division for 8 of 10 years in the seventies!

Obviously they WEREN'T in a more competitive league if they won 4 SB's in 6 years :hmmm:

How can the best team ever not be the current Pats?
Superbowl champs. 21 games IN A ROW. And all of this when there is MORE parity in the NFL than ever. in other words, ANY team can win. Nowadays its extremely difficult for a team to stay at the top. Look at the Rams, Ravens, Giants, Bucs, Raiders and Panthers...all mediocre teams who were the other 6 teams in the SB the last 4 years besides the Pats. Rams are so-so. Ravens have a good D but their O sucks. Giants are FINALLY starting to show some life. Bucs suck. Raiders are horrible and the Panthers are among the worst in the NFL.

For a team to win 21 in a row nowadays is INSANE. My vote is Pats '04

You had to see them to fully appreciate that team. They have a few hall of famers there, Mean Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Terry Bradshaw, John Stallworth, Lynn Swan, Jack Ham and Franco harris To name a few. I am a Giant/ jet fan but the Steelers were awesome.

I know who they were.

But i mean geez. For a team to win 21 in a row nowadays is UNHEARD OF. Like i said, look at the other 6 teams that have been in the SB over the last 4 years....
teams go from good-to-bad and bad-to-good from year to year. So for the Pats to do that, including winning their 2nd SB in 3 years is a pretty big accomplishment...

The New England Patriots. This is an era in football that was deemed impossible by many to be a legit contender year in and year out. This team has proven everybody wrong and then some, and don't get me started with sunday.

This team is the most well coached, well managed, well executing team in the game. They were bound to falter in one game, it happened when Corey Dillon, Ty Law, Tyrone Poole and others were out.

The fact that the Patriots play like shit for one game and you guys are already placing there season in the books as a failure.

This team will be back, mark my words.

I like them, but not as much as the Steelers.

I think Brady is the most underrate QB ever, he is real good.

Flex, Soxm... The is New England's year....guess where Kerry is from..

it is my year.

Pats- SB champs, 21 in a row

Sox- WS champs

UConn- Nat'l champs

Flex the top teams are as you describe 'mediocre'. Where is the argument that a team that can beat mediocre teams should be considered the greatest of all time. Do you remember the changes in the rules every spring when the Steelers were dominating? How many guys are the Pats sending to Canton? The Patriots should finish on top of their division again this year and if the breaks go their way win again in Jacksonville. They are a great team, no question. But the league isn't going to change the game to stop them.

Let's get this straight.

I DIDN'T say the tops teams are mediocre. i said in today's NFL there is so much parity that MANY top teams of one year may do bad the next year. THATS the difference.

Therefore, when TOP teams like St louis, Oakland, TB, Carolina, Bmore, NY make it to the SB b/c they are GOOD that year, then they SUCk the next year, that says something very good about the Pats, who have shown a shitload of consistency. Back in teh '70's there were FEW very good teams. There wasn't the possibility that ANY team can show up one year and do well.

Now do you see the difference?

The year the Patriots didn't win the SB they didn't even make the playoffs. The Steelers lost in the championship game to Oakland with Harris and Bleier out with injuries. Are we going to talk about Canton?

OMG dude.

They missed the playoffs by ONE game. They've won 2 SB's in 3 years. 21 games in a ROW. All w/o superstar players.

I don't give a fuck about Canton.

OK Watch your Blood Pressure. It was nice arguing with you!
