With the holidays approaching and a lot of gift exchanging going on, I thought I'd throw this out for people to get or give ideas for gift exchanging.
What is the most useful and most worthless kitchen gadget you have?
For me:
Most Useful: Ready check thermometer with remote display. This is a great tool for cooking any type of meat to perfection. Takes all the guesswork out of is it done, rare, medium rare etc. I've never ruined a nice cut of meat when using this. Be sure to get one with a cord approved for grill or broiler use if you do. Mine was about $35.
Most Worthless: I've got a 1 cup chopper, where you put the veggies in and pound on the top. The blades chop and rotate at the same time. Cleanup is a chore. Although it chops alright, my Chef's Knife makes just as quick of work and the cleanup is faster.
