Ok yes I'm a fat guy, and yes posting pics is a bit odd but I document my progress for myself so why not share.

I was at the gym the other day and talking to a trainer there that I've be-friended slightly. We were talking about my progress or as I told him a lack there of. I've got training down, and that I understand. (Its the diet that I battle with, though I am finally making some headway so progress is in sight.) He says, BS that he has seen me change a ton in three months. I joined there the second week of Jan.

So anyhow that being said, we had a bet today. I told him I had put on 10lb in the last three weeks from where I was at 234lb. I felt it was water weight and maybe a bit of muscle, but that my calipers said I was at 27%BF as of earlier that day. He says no way your over 20%. So the bet was $20.

Today I go in there and sure enough the man was right, all be it not by much though. It showed 19%, and was backed up by another trainer. So I pay but told him I think I got bamboozled. Its all in fun:roflmao:

I got home today and took some new shots. Looking at others in their gallerys I just don't look like I am sub 20%BF, to me I look more like 30%. So I ask you folks to give me your visual take. Yes I know that measuring is the only true way to know for sure, I am just doubting the measurements.

Your thoughts????

P.S. As a side bar, I have pretty thick skin so calling me a fat f**k won't discourage me or show up on my radar one bit. I'm after brutal honesty here.

Yeah, I can tell a difference. You see yourself everyday so you probably don't.

If I were guessing, I would have said 20%-22%, so very close to the 19%. No way you are at 30%.

You are doing a great job! I have seen your diet and workout journals. Don't over think it, or get impatient. You are on the right track. Keep it at a moderate loss per week. Concentrate on building muscle, more then seeing a lower number on the scale.

thank you both...yeah I started this whole deal at 257lb and now sit at 245lb. I got as low as 234lb. I've said in the past that the scale means nothing, and this is false. To me the scale is a measuring stick like many others. However it isn't the all knowing measuring stick, in cooperaton with a good tape measure and calipers it is a useful tool.

Go to online journals and begin a thread.

Nice work buddy! Under 20, now where from here? You shooting for 10 or so?

Honestly I'll know when I get there. I'm not at all pleased with how I look, so theres still much to do. If that number is 10 then sweet, if its more or less then equally cool. My goal is to see abs in a relaxed state, wherever that occurs is my goal.

Im also getting to that stage and i totally changed my diet/cardio training 4 days ago...its all about keeping with it all the time over a long period of time. I honestly think ill reach close to my goal by the time i go back home for the summer, which is in a month. eating good makes me feel so much better both physically and mentally!
