I've only recently gotten back in the weight room. (Long story)
Part of the long story is a shoulder injury from 5 months ago. Last night after having been back on a regular program for 8 weeks now and taking things real slow so I do not aggivate the shoulder I did a set of dips. I have always loved dips and know they place high stress on the shoulders but figured I was ready for them again.
WRONG! Now my shoulder feels like it is back at square one. I'm just PO'd for being so stupid. I guess this is my venting tread...
I'm gonna give it a week of rest and then break into my upper body program slowly. Ibuprofin helps.
I've thought about getting a bench shirt to support the shoulder but don't want something that is so rerstrictive I can't wear it throughout a workout.
I hope this post will alert anyone reading it that when nursing a shoulder injury dips should not be on the list of things to do.
