body fat monitor

i was interested in purchasing one of those body fat monitors... the trainer at my gym uses this one by "omni...something"... u hold the handles and it tells u the fat %.. any idea the brand name it is, i forgot..

I've read that the accuracy of those things is like +/- 13% - not very good.

There was a good article about them in Muscle and Fitness Hers (I think) last month.

I'll see if I can find it!

Those things act differently on everyone. It is pretty accurate on me, but a friend of mine is WAY off! Not sure what the brand name is...

I have a set of body fat scales made by Tanita which seem to be pretty accurate they take your body weight into account when calculating the % body fat.

"omron body logic body fat analyzer" is the one i was talking about

the trainer at my gym told me it was about -/+ 3%... last time i checked with that by BF was at 8% with the thing, and 10% with calipsers... pretty good...
