I read quite a bit as a child, also in my 20's but as of late I almost never read anything new. When I do read I seem to read books over that I enjoyed in the past. For example 1984, Catcher in the rye,The Picture of Dorian Gray, People's history of the United states...ect

What do you read over and over again and why?

Yes I do. 1 or 2 per month. I love it. Books are one of the best things ever. I have read between 100-150 books that I actually bought instead of being told to read by school/university. But there is an autistic guy with over 8000 books read and normal university teachers read around 500-1500 books their lifetime so I have got some reading to do.

I've been reading as much Blaise Cendrars as I can get lately Right now it's 'Dan Yack' also listened to Big Sur and Dharma Bums on my Iphone over the last few weeks while driving home, it's a different experience hearing them read now that I'm older and understand a bit more than I did when I read them at 20 and 26, now I'm listening to Joyce's 'A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man'.....oh and I also re-read Donleavy's 'Singular Man' last Saturday....

Didn't really read till around 22, so only a couple years ago. I mostly read Taoist and Buddhist books, also some stuff on meditation, enegry flow and chakra flow. I'm one of those weird guys.

I read Randy Couture's book "Becoming the Natural" and really enjoyed it. Read it in about a week. I couldn't put it done. Now I'm readying "Desperately seeking Snoozin" by John Wiedman. I have been having problems sleeping and this book was highly recommended on a lot of sleep forums.

I switched from reading to audiobooks. IT is more practical. I can listen to Scientific American and work at the same time.

If you guys don't have an audible account, get off your ass. The site rocks!

My brother is a audiobook fiend on a share site, so I get more than I could ever listen to from him.

I enjoy reading nonfiction, but my mind refuses to wander into fantasy land.

I've been reading a lot lately myself. So much in fact that I'm considering getting a Kindle or something similar. Anyone have one of those?

I like to read while in bed. It helps me get my mind off the day and I start getting sleepy.

Librivox.org has a bunch of the classics for free, but yesh my Audible account has helped me get a lot more books under my skull cap...but there's a lot of rare authors I'm into.....

Being dyslexic I find a lot more of the book sticks in my memory when I listen to it....

Anything by Malcolm Gladwell such as, "Outliers", "The tipping point" and his newest book, "What the dog saw".

Bill Simmons books, "The book of basketball" and "Now I can die and rest in peace" (about the redsox 2004 season winning the WS)

"A child called IT" by David Pelzer

"Dewey" by Vicki Myron

I tend to go through phases when reading books. I was hooked on "Goosebumps" when I was a kid and stopped reading books entirely in High School and the first few years of college but i have picked up again lately and have a greater appreciation for books. It's great to learn new vocabulary and opinions/outlook on life from intelligent authors.

I have several books on my shelf that I am planning on reading, does that count? :nail:

I know what you mean.

I often buy book I "think" I want to read.

I do eventually read them, but sometimes it takes months.
