So, lately, I've been getting into boxing a lot more than previous years, and since I am racked up with an injury for the next 3-4 weeks, I figure that this is the best time to research and get a new routine which is tailored to the sport.

I was thinking plyometrics three days a week for explosiveness, speed, and strength as well as keeping a little powerlifting in there for one exercise each of those days: flat bench, squat, and deads. I've been a powerlifter for years and I'd miss those exercises too much. Plus, it is a fast twitch muscle fiber exercise so it can't hurt... i hope.

Then, for endurance, I was thinking about adding some sort of weight training twice a week.

Since I'm training two different muscles fibers, I shouldn't have that much overlap...correct me if I'm wrong.

Of course, this would be on top of the boxing.

HOWEVER, I could really use your guys help setting the routine. I'm really don't know much about endurance training or plyometrics. By the way, i like to train hard.

I was planning an AM/PM split.

Day 1: (AM) Boxing - Footwork focus (PM) Squat + Plyo routine
Day 2: (AM) Boxing - Endurance (PM) Endurance weight work
Day 3: (AM) Boxing - Power focus (PM) Bench + Plyo routine
Day 4: (AM) Boxing - Endurance (PM) Endurance weight work
Day 5: (AM) Boxing - Speed focus (PM) Deads + plyo routine
Day 6: off
Day 7: off

Varying the off days.

The injury Before you ask: I was angry and hit a table... there was a glass on that table (i didn't see it in the heat of the moment)... I got 13 stitches to the back of the hand and a fancy new cast. Don't worry, It's nothing that'll affect boxing... it was more of a hammer fist; it's cut on the back of the hand on the pinky side in the meaty part.

4AD and women :)
