not sure I agree with that.

I know I don't. They're are plenty of galas (or hot spots) that they can go to and get their picture in the paper (or video on teevee).

I'm not condoning the way they do their thing. But people pay attention to the big celebrities, who also have the right contacts and publicity machine. I'm referring to the struggling actors and actresses trying to make a name for themselves who are not priviliged with those aspects yet. The 'real' newspapers dont pay them any attention and, in general, they are have a much more difficult time to get on shows and TV without having some celebrity status irrespective of how talented they might be.
