I want to get into body building...My height is 5'11 weight 145. my wife says join a gym,and i found one thats only 1$ per visit, thats right 1$ .its at the parks a rec service in our town.ill have to check it out and see if its got all the proper weights and benches.if not i was wondering if any1 can tell me if these attachments i added will be a good start to help build my new body.the first pick is the rack, second is bench, third is weights. will i need any thing else? this totals $800 with out sh or tax.

Building a home gym is a great idea if you have the cash to do it right. Otherwise, you're much better off joining a real gym. I pay $30 a month (World Gym) and have access to everything imaginable.

rack, bench and weights sounds good to me. I would get some dumbells and defintely a pull up bar (or you can just do your pullups on the top beam of the power rack, which is what I do sometimes when people are in my way.) If you have the money a cable tower would be cool but not necessary, just keep it to the bare essentials.

i guess u can only post one pic at a time

heres the bench

.

You probably want a bench that has a rack to it so that you can bench press.

I would go with a power rack over that sqaut rack that you have pictured there. I looks a little unstabel and the pins don't come out far enough so if you get stuck at the bottom of the squat you are going to either be shit outta luck or just have to dump the weight and let it slide off your back....BANG!!

ok that sounds good i saw one in coplands sports its everything for 1300 including weights lemme see if i can get a good pic of it.i belive its made by naudalis or something

I'd go with that bench if the woman came with it.

From what i can tell the rack and the bench are bodysolid.
If i were you i would get a different rack (also body solid). They have racks that you can add pulleys, diping station, pec dec and who knows what else. What i did is get the rack and about a year later i added all the rest.
They also have attatchments for the benches(leg extention, preecher (sp?).
I'm never buying another brand.
Later on i'll find another old thread were i posted pic's from my gym.
No time now...

a good power rack and a good bench are the bare essentials. That is what I have in my basement and I can do everything I need to do if the gym is closed or I don't feel like seeing people.
Don't scrimp when buyng home equipment because it's your life on the line. I would also recommend some of the heavy duty floor padding that most fitness stores carry.

I would go with the poser rack for $299. It looks like it has a lat pudd down cable and a pull up bar across the top. All you need is bench after that.

what poser rack for $299?
