Hello everyone,

I'm glad I found this sight, it has answered alot of questions for me. I have been working out strong now for 5 months. I went from 135lbs to 155lbs (5/9 28yr old) since I have started. This is the longest I have ever worked out without juicing (I've done two cycles) last one about 4 years ago. I would like some info on bulking up, I'm currently taking creatine, whey protine, multi-V and drinking 1/2 dose of weight gainer(2200 cal) every other day. I work out three days a week for about an hour a day.

I have been debating on juicing again but I'm a little hesitent beings I have gained with out it. I have only been maintaining my weight for the past month and would like to give my self a boost. I would like to weigh about 175lb. I eat about 4 meals a day and snack in between. These are some prohormones I have come across in my searching. What would be my best choice or what has worked for any of you.

Test 100 by S.A.N.
1 AD by Ergopharm

Thanks for any info,

Tom

I've personally used the 1-ad by Ergopharm and liked the results . The only problem is juicing is cheaper .

Juicing is cheaper?? What kind of gains and strength increase did you see? I have actually tried finding juice but haven't had much luck. It was alot easier to find when I was in the Marines. : )

My gains after a whole bottle of 1AD was about 5 pounds . That bottle cost me 60 bucks for 100 tabs . I've got friends who juice they get a 8 week cycle of Juice for a little over $100 and my buddy put on 20 pounds by the end of his cycle . You do the math .

You need to eat. A lot.

Feeding is the most important factor . You got that right CD .

Yeah, and the fact that the dude has done 2 cycles and is still only 155lbs!

Sorry if this sounds offensive man, but how much do you eat? and what do you train like?

Must be an ecto morph . Eat like a horse it works !

The last cycle I did was about 4yrs ago, I just started lifting again about 5 month ago. That would explain the 155lbs. : )

I know the diet is the key. I could eat a little better/more but I do eat more now than I ever have. I snack all day, peanut butter crackers, pop tarts, garnolla bars, breakfast bars and anything else I get my hands on. I would say I eat at least 3 to 4000 cal a day.

I gained 30 to 35 pounds off of one cycle of juice. But lost it all in about 7 months, stopped working out due to a car accident. Am I still to young to use prohormones? If I could gain a good 10 to 15lbs using them I would like to try them.

Tom,

There is very little protein in the things you mentioned above. There is also a great deal of sugar in what you mentioned. I am trying to get ready for a contest this year and my PT is having me eat a lot. I eat 8-10 whole eggs in the morning, I drink about a gallon of whole milk throughout the day, I eat about 24oz of chicken breasts throughout the day, I take Udo's oil and Olive oil, I eat slow burning carbs also like brown rice, sweet potatoes, wheat pasta. I eat Cottage cheese, not the non-fat stuff. I lift hard and get plenty of rest. I was at 184 last year and now I am at 213. Don't worry about losing sight of your abs, you will cut later. This was really hard for me because I want to be cut.

Good luck,

Eat big, lift big, rest big, get big.

Also, I didn't realize this was so important but change your routine up every 6-8 weeks. Gopro says this and I agree whole heartedly.

This may sound like a dumb question but do you cook all of those eggs or do you drink them, because I have thought about drinking raw eggs, kind of like Rocky. :) I eat chicken at least 3 times a week, I try to eat potatoes and pasta with every dinner and sometimes for lunch.

I think breakfast is where I'm slacking, I usaully only have a shake and a breakfast bar at about 11:30am and then I eat lunch at about 3pm, dinner is about 7pm. I snack in between lunch and dinner and then after dinner I will try to eat something else cake or what ever I can grab with alot of cal. Are the oils that important at this stage of the game for me?

I do train hard, I push myself to the limit, though it would help if I had a spotter. Should I eat something as soon as I'm done lifting, because I usaully wait a few hours before I eat. I do switch my routine every now and again also. Do you count the cal. in your drinks also.

I wouldn't eat/drink raw eggs! because...:finger:

The human body cannot break down and digest raw eggs, you must ("denature") the protein for the body to be able to absorb it and use it.

Raw Egg's contain salmonella, the last thing you want is food poisening. Trust me on this one!

There's an enzyme in raw eggwhites that blocks the absorbtion of biotin. It's broken down when you cook it.

Not all eggs contain salmonella.

Tom,

I cook all my eggs. I was in High School when Rocky scarfed down the glass of raw eggs and I tried it and almost lost it. Yuck. :)

Eating cake does nothing for your muscles. It isn't just eating calories, eat calories that will do some good. :thumb:

Can anyone name some good snacks to munch on between meals? Right now I snack on yogart(110cal), cakes, peanut butter crackers(210cal), poptarts(240cal), chips, cookies, donuts and breakfast bars(140cal). Is this stuff worthless, to much sugar?

I think I will stay away from the raw eggs.

If you want to bulk without worrying about the fat. You can cut later. I have been snacking on peanut butter, the yogurt is ok, I get pepperoni sticks from the store. A big tall 16 oz of whole milk with protein powder added. Make up some chicken thighs, higher in fat, put them in the frig and have one or two when you are hungry. Get some nuts to snack on.
Cottage cheese is good.

Throw away the cakes, crackers, poptarts, chips, cookies, donuts, and breakfast bars.

GOT MILK?

Q)Why are so many of the protein experts and Doctors returning to prescribing milk proteins? Whey has a higher BV and milk is mucous producing. Isn't milk for suckling babies and aren't there better calcium and protein sources, truthfully?

A)What goes around comes around. (We are all suckling babies). Think of the adage, always be close to nature. Milk is powerful food. Here is the obvious: Milk is loaded with the essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals, secondary growth factors and immunoglobulins, (like IGF-1, insulin like growth factor). It contains all that is necessary for the integrity of our hormonal, immune, bone, blood cell and even reproductive system. Besides those good carbohydrates and being pasteurized and homogenized, milk is like a king of protein (like the whole egg). Cow's milk is 80% casein and 20% whey. Consider the perfection of nature. Most studies prove that while whey has a high BV and is a very anabolic fast-acting protein, it is relatively ineffective at building muscle, unless it is combined with other foods to slow its rate of absorption down. There is a reason that nature evolved to have milk at 80% casein and 20% whey. Casein is just the type of protein necessary that allows whey absorption to be slowed down and makes the spectrum of protein absorption much better, especially for those who go for long periods between meals. Nature does not make mistakes and if it ever does, it corrects itself. What else is there about milk for bodybuilders? Man, try loads of L-Taurine, L-Glutamine, L-Arginine, L-Histidine, BCAA's, all powerful essential and conditionally essential amino acids during exercise! Milk is both anabolic and anti-catabolic.

I can certainly see why right now, the hottest selling protein powders or drinks out there to the hard core, most knowledgeable pros are Beverly Ultra Size, VPX Micellean Protein, Muscle Milk, Priced Right Muscle Protein, Yates ProPeptide Protein and MET-Rx RTD drinks.

Thanks for the info, I have really started pounding the milk here lately instead of juice. I feel like I'm growing after each glass. :) I'm mixing my protien with milk also.
