Learnt a good one on friday.

Was doing light bench (damaged shoulder) and just warming up with the bar, thinking some random thought while i finished my warm up set and racked the bar.

Then i hear this metallic noise, and look up to see a 44lb barbell land on my face. Oh goody. Quite lucky that it landed across the top of my mouth and has only done very minor damage.

I had set one end of the bar right on the edge of its retainer, so it balanced there for a moment before dive bombing my head.

If you're warming up, or going easy, stay focused - anything can go wrong at any time.

Interestingly, it was in a commercial gym where I am a PT, during quiet lunch time, and of the 4 guys who were very close by, who all saw what happened, not one of them even came over or said a word. Lovely people.

There has been very few days I go into the gym unfocused, but everyone has those days now and then. Yes very lucky for you. Couldve been your neck!

once warming up on CG bench press I dropped 225 across my chest, it slipped out of my hands. It bounced on my upper abs, I caught it off the bounce and pressed it.

you are defenitly lucky though!

One time I was benching and I hit failure with 135lbs...someone had to pull it off of me....that was a sad day...

i was doing bench press and my brother was spotting me and he is an annoying little brat so i told him to help me when i needed it, he thought i didnt and went to drink water and i was pushing the last rep and i tried really hard it started falling back on me and it was close to my chest but i somehow got grip and just pushed it up fast.

couldnt breath lol.
