You make sense, but IMO you are wrong.

I guaran-fucking-tee these people had minimal social skills, and a skewed if disturbing view of society as a whole. This leaves their parents who are given the ultimate responsibility of making their children functioning members of society. or at least making sure someone else makes them.

these guys skate through life only participating in the academic aspects of school, most likely using the internet as their only source of social medium, where they can X any conversation they dont want to continue. ultimately they break, having had no real, meaningful human interaction, and proceed to X out the people they are sick of. emotionally they are no stronger than children. physically they have the strength to hold the pistol, and pull the trigger. age doesnt make you a grown ass man, it just makes your shell old.

just because they can walk like a duck and quack like a duck doesnt mean they recognize the other ducks as equal to themselves, or even vice-versa.

am I making sense?

I see where you're coming from but that doesn't cut it for me, and I know from experience. I'm one of those guys that mainly does academics because growing up, I really wasn't around my peers (unfortunately). That makes going to parties or events pretty uncomfortable/awkward for me. I also watched lots of violent movies while growing up in addition to playing every single violent video game that "causes" these events.

That said, I'm pretty damn sure I'm not going to be shooting up a school anytime soon. Unless the school is full of delicious, delicious turkeys.

Here is my take:

1.) America is a privileged, materialistic, well-fed society. People feel entitled to the world. When things go badly, they have a melt-down. If they lived in a third world country where food on your plate made you content, the thoughts wouldn't have even entered their mind.

2.) Big-government and bleeding-heart psychologist babble have made focus all the blame for their failures on others. We will soon live in a society where people expect the government to take care of them literally from the cradle to the grave. You didn't save for retirement? Here is some social security. You didn't graduate high school? Here is some welfare. Your skin is a certain color? Here is a government grant for education. You have no marketable skill, and thus can't get a decent job? Here is some universal health care. All of this leads to a lack of personal responsibility. Jimmy-psycho can't accept the fact that his shortcomings are his own fault, he blames society, and he takes it out on society.

Are you fucking retarded? Third world countries have the highest murder rates in the world.

1)I agree that the American value system is fucked, but by the age of 27 you should have a general idea that this is a materialistic society. If you don't like it, move. I personally don't like it, but my values are different and I can live comfortably within it. I also wouldn't want to be anywhere else so I deal.

2)I think kids like this are identifiable at an early age. I bet there are at least a few of this kids high school teachers who knew he was a tad askew. Unfortunately few care.

3)His parents are at least partially to blame for his actions. If you can'

im saying that these people are ill-adjusted individuals as a whole,

obviously these people were also mentally ill, which added with their skewed view of humanity as a whole = a crappy d00d who doesnt give a fuck.

It said he was on medication and came off of it recently?

I think a lot of people, children/teens in particular, are overprescribed drugs for phantom "problems." Your 10 year old doesn't like to sit in class for 7 hours? Here's some adderall. He's feeling sad? Here's some anti-depressants, instead of handling root problems. I believe a lot of those drugs have profound impacts of people's brains. Seong Cho Lee (or whatever his name was) the Korean guy who shot people at VT was on psychological medication, or had been as well, I think.

I'll agree with the ADD thing and adderall, but Cho's situation was different. He was mentally ill and needed medication, therapy, and a lot of love. Also, no medication is going to make someone shoot a bunch of innocent people. IT doesn't work that way.

The College Shooters have a common mental illness theme and the teen killers have a common loser/bullied/pushed too far theme....

We guard our money with armed men and our children with words. Funding for mental health is all but gone (we just throw drugs at them now), funding for after school programs gone, funding for the things and programs we know actually reduce crime are essentially non existent, and you are left with more people falling through societies cracks, etc, you end with the current situation in a country that has the freedoms and liberties we do.

i always say no one would ever expect donald trump to leave his money with a stranger, or liz taylor her jewels, but people leave their kids with strangers every day. that's pretty fucked up.
